A fantastic base for family holidays with a small dog, this open-plan chalet is within easy reach of some of North Yorkshire’s most popular attractions. Walk, run and sniff your way through the spectacular North York Moors National Park, visit some of the famous Harry Potter filming locations, stop for a bite to eat in nearby Pickering or splash in the bracing surf at Whitby (23 miles). Back at the chalet, put your feet and paws up beside the warming wood burner effect electric fire, explore the private on-site woodland or dine alfresco in the enclosed garden.

With large bi-folding doors opening onto a decked terrace, this open-plan chalet provides an al fresco feel no matter the weather. Prepare tasty meals and treats in the contemporary and sociable kitchen space, which overlooks the dining area beyond. After long days on foot, sink into one of the inviting sofas to enjoy a board game or film with the family while your faithful friend dozes beside the wood burner effect electric fire. When it’s time for bed, choose between the three well-presented rooms which share a clean and serene tiled bathroom. Adorned with wildflowers and pot plants, the enclosed garden is a pleasant spot for al fresco dining while the private woodland and field beyond is sure to impress children and canine companions alike.

With its heather-clad moorland, ancient woodland, wonderful views, and quaint villages, many of which boast welcoming dog-friendly pubs, the North York Moors National Park has something for everyone. Dogs are also welcome on board the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, which provides a picturesque journey all the way from Pickering (2.5 miles) to Whitby. We stated in this lovely lodge in the October half term, the setting was brilliant, we enjoyed the tranquil outlook of the little wooded area and all the birds every morning. There isn't much noise from the main road, it is a busy road but dies down overnight and doesn't start up too early. The lodge is ideally located for accessing the moors, we vRead moreisited the local steam train twice, ventured out to Scarborough and Bridlington and NT Nunnington Hall. We had a great week, comfy and warm. Hide

Lovely accommodation. Was a home from home. Comfy beds and comfy settee. Quiet setting away from people if you enjoy your own company. Dog loved the enclosed garden. Lovely countryside views from property. Would definitely book again.

We enjoyed our stay fir the time that we were there. The lodge was very clean and well equipped and in a good position for flamingo land and surrounding attractions. With us taking our dog, it would have been useful for the garden area to be secure. Very friendly owners.

Great accomodation, very comfortable, quite secluded which was nice. Very central for places to visit, and good shopping around, lots of choice for places to eat. Garden although not fully enclosed was good for our dog to exercise, and the fairy glade was lovely too. The accomodation was very well equipped, didnt need anything more.
