Midway between Windermere and Coniston Water, this delightful cottage is situated in the pretty hamlet of Satterthwaite and makes a lovely holiday retreat for a family or group of friends seeking a relaxing getaway. Set on the outskirts of the glorious Grizedale Forest, this traditional period-style cottage offers spacious and relaxing accommodation for seven human and three canine guests.

At the heart of the house is the attractive open-plan lounge/diner. The lounge features comfortable seating, TV, DVD and a wood burner set in a stone fireplace, making this a lovely spot to relax in at the end of a great day out. There’s also a great selection of books and games to keep you amused. The stylish dining area is perfect for sharing a family meal and for planning the day’s adventures. The fully-equipped kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, and there’s also a lovely snug and a sunny conservatory overlooking the garden. Going upstairs, there are four charming and cosy bedrooms with exposed beams on the first floor: a double, a twin, a bunk bedroom and a master bedroom with a king-size bed. A handy wet room is on the ground floor, and the main bathroom is on the first floor. The charming back garden features a table and chairs so you can enjoy a meal in the afternoon. Off-road parking is available for two cars, and there are plenty of walks which your dogs will love, right from the doorstep.

Satterthwaite is home to an excellent dog-friendly pub and is close to Grizedale Forest (4 miles) which offers a range of fantastic walks, bike trails and a Go Ape centre. Other local attractions include the Beatrix Potter house at Hill Top (6 miles), Lakeland Motor Museum (6.5 miles) and the two stunning local lakes: Coniston Water (9 miles) and Windermere (7 miles).

Lovely well equipped property in a beautiful location. Plenty of walks locally. We were four adults and two children 14 and 10 plus a Labrador and there was plenty of room for us all. The lounge diner is a lovely large space.

Excellent cottage. It has everything you could possibly want. The location is very good and the local pub a real bonus with great food. The beds are comfy, it is very warm and the fire is easy to use. We had a super family new year and will definitely be back.

Great cottage, really well equipped and very comfortable for a group of 8. The village is lovely, local pub is fantastic and there are loads of walks for all abilities that can be done from the house. We had a great stay!

Beautiful cottage with everything we needed for a peaceful holiday in the Lakes. The accommodation was spacious and very clean and the village itself is a great location for taking walks from the door. This is a very quiet part of the Lakes, and we enjoyed exploring Grizedale Forest, seeing very few other walkers when we explored the forest and neaRead morerby crags and hilltops. A lovely cottage, very comfortable and well equipped. Very pretty village with a good pub a short stroll away. Plenty of parking even with a dinghy. All in all, really good and we would certainly return and recommend to others.

A great place, great spot. Very well equipped (take black bags and washing-up liquid) far too big for two of us with three dogs! Be wary, that if you take 'athletic' dogs there is a low wall on one side of the back garden which can easily be crossed. This isn't evident in the photo's of the property and as it was a prerequisite for us to have a fulRead morely (high) enclosed garden, we should have checked this directly before booking. The local pub is not a gastropub (it's normal pub food but expensive). Hide

Beautiful location, friendly pub just 200ft away. Easy to get to where ever you want to visit. Clean and comfortable plenty of space for the 6 of us. Lovely garden /Conservatory room on back where you can watch the birds and have coffee. Would use again.

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location, we will definetly be back. As has been mentioned by other guests there aren't any wardrobes but there are hanging rails and underbed storage boxes, the kitchen is really well equiped, I would recommend taking some dishwasher tablets and soap power if thats something you would use. The cottage is very cosy andRead more warm with lots of logs for the wood burner supplied. If you go along the road at the back of the property it leads to walking/cycling trails. Hide

Great location for walks straight out the door and the local pub was lovely. Lovely cottage with plenty of room for us and the dogs. Lack of storage was a pain and has been fed back to owners. Also you may want to bring hand soap and washing up liquid as it wasn't provided.

Fantastic cottage for a family get together. Plenty of space, in and out, the open dining and lounge area with the separate snug was really useful. Very well equipped kitchen, cooked all week including some dishes that would normally be difficult on holiday. Great location and overall a very comfortable cottage that was well equipped. However, the lack of adequate hanging space for clothing was an issue as very little was supplied, but having fed this back to the owner hopefully this will now be rectified. The cottage is located within a few miles of Windermere, Hawkshead, Coniston and Grizedale, and tRead morehe village pub is a couple of minutes walk away and serves good food.
