This delightful cottage, sleeping five humans and welcoming two pups, offers stunning views across the Northumberland countryside and has a plethora of coastal walks and stunning beaches nearby, sure to set tails wagging. Spend the day walking some of the 62 miles of the Northumberland Coast Path and explore the hidden beaches and coves along the way, before returning home to warm up with a pot of tea around the wood burner.
Relax in the cosy and welcoming lounge with a good book and a sprawled-out pooch enjoying a belly rub at your feet. Admire the country cottage features of the house with the stone-built fireplace, wooden latch doors and stone-flagged flooring in the kitchen/diner. Tuck into a family meal around the farmhouse-style dining table before heading to the games room for a pool tournament or a game of darts. Enjoy stunning coastal views from your bedroom as you drink your morning coffee in bed, before heading downstairs to have breakfast in the garden. Take in the far-reaching countryside views as you plan the day’s adventures whilst Fido rolls around in the grass on the lawn.
Stretch your two, or four, legs on Holy Island (10 miles) and marvel at Lindisfarne Castle and the abbey ruins as you trek past on one of the dog-friendly trails on this historic tidal island. Make the journey to the unspoilt beach of Ross Back Sands (5 miles) that can only be reached by foot, meaning it is generally deserted or feels so because of its seemingly never-ending stretch of golden sands. Let Fido run free and dip paws and toes into the salty water as you enjoy views of Lindisfarne to the north, and the imposing Bamburgh castle to the south.
