Two happy hounds will relish a stay at this idyllic Dorset cottage as much as the party of up to five they are accompanying. Set in the quiet village of Langton Matravers, on the Isle of Purbeck peninsula, the three-bedroom holiday home is just over 1 mile from the spectacular Jurassic Coast, with its pretty coves and craggy cliffs. Head out on long walks across the undulating countryside and take your four-legged pals to romp on dog-friendly beaches.
Enter this delightful cottage, which dates back to the 18th century, to discover inviting accommodation with features, such as exposed stone walls and flagstone and wooden floors. Return with your pups from days out in the fresh air to light the wood burner in the lounge and let them find a quiet spot in which to relax. Watch SkyTV or a DVD before you prepare them and yourselves something good to eat in your bright kitchen/diner. Find a ground-floor WC, as well as a handy washing machine and drying area for those doggy towels and blankets. Head up to the first floor to discover all three of your bedrooms, with their beautiful views, and your family shower room. Soak up the sunshine with your contented canines out in your enclosed, south-facing garden and on a clear day see if you can spot the Isle of Wight.
Head to Corfe Castle, almost 4 miles from the cottage, to explore the spectacular 1,000-year-old ruins with your trusty friends. Find several trails start here, including an interesting 12-mile walk to Swanage for energetic pups and their owners. Those who brave it can then catch the steam train back to Corfe Castle, which dogs on leads are also welcome to board. Walk 5 miles from the cottage to Studland Bay, with its dog-friendly sandy beach.
