Stunning stone cottage in the idyllic Nannau Estate near Ganllwd, an area of SSSI, and Dolgellau. Enjoy the activities and attractions of the coast and countryside in Snowdonia and North Wales.

In a land as rich in history as unrivalled natural beauty, this stunning part of North Wales provides an unmissable retreat for adventure-seeking dogs and their discerning owners. Where better to start and end each day of exploration than at this gorgeous two-bedroom family cottage in the idyllic Nannau Estate near Ganllwyd? With room for up to four people and your furry-faced best friend, you can look forward to days uncovering woodland, rivers, waterfalls and gorges and evenings of total rest and relaxation, curled up in front of the roaring wood burner.

A picturesque stone cottage in a jaw-dropping location, there is as much to enjoy inside as out. Wander past the babbling stream and head inside, making the attractive open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner your first port of call. Framed by open beams and equipped with all manner of creature comforts (including dreamy underfloor heating), you will quickly feel at home. While your dog tucks into a bone, rustle up some wholesome dishes in the well-equipped kitchen before serving around the dining table or, if the weather is nice, swap the kitchen for the outdoor BBQ and serve on the patio. Affording lovely views and ample space for your dog to let off steam, the garden is a haven throughout the day – particularly suited to summer sundowners before bed.

With the enclosed garden mostly laid to lawn and direct access to woodland, your dog will have a ball investigating all the new sights and scents. If your pup is especially energetic, you can store bikes in the storage room and explore the area on two wheels. To set your own pace, Coed Y Brenin Forest Park has all sorts of trails for all abilities, while the 9.5-mile Mawddach Trail (8.5 miles away) is a real favourite for estuary views, wildlife spotting and stick chasing.

Amazing cottage, location a 10 minute drive down a windy narrow forest road so glad I was in a small car! Well worth the drive. Walked from the cottage every day into the forest a different route. Cottage very well equipped. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped. If you enjoy walking there are plenty of places close to the cottage. There are a variety of animals next door so may not suit all dogs.

Despite heavy rain we had a wonderful week in this cosy well-equipped cottage. The river just across the road was a perfect playground for our dog, so many great walks around and lovely to drive through Snowdonia on the smaller roads to see the real beauty. Lovely week, thank you.
