This charming cottage, set in the picture-postcard village of Stoke Abbott close to the pretty town of Beaminster, is perfect for a romantic break for a couple and up to two canine companions.
This converted stable block offers quirky and comfortable accommodation. Inside, there is a lovely living space with two cosy armchairs and a wood burner for chillier evenings, where your four-legged friend can stretch out on the rug. Upstairs the romantic, king-size bedroom has lovely views and a second lounge area just next door, where your four-legged friends can sleep close to you should you wish. Outside is a glorious, spacious garden, shared with the property owners, ideal for a game of fetch before sitting down to enjoy a drink on the patio in the sunshine. Guests also have use of their own small private enclosed area of the garden next to the cottage with a BBQ, outdoor seating and a cosy shed with sofa (available to use between Easter and the end of October) with a peaceful outlook.
Set in the heart of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are waggy-tailed walks galore to be enjoyed both locally and further afield. Alternatively, jump in the car and head south to the Jurassic coast. Lyme Regis, famous for its beach, fossils and harbour – known as the Cobb – is just 14 miles away. Or for a closer trip to the beach, head to the pretty town of Bridport (6 miles) and the beautiful stretch of sand that is West Bay. Take a picnic and enjoy walkies on the beach (dogs are welcome all year in the East Cliff area) before rounding off the day with a cream tea in one of Bridport’s many cafes.
