A warm and comfortable cottage; within easy reach of fabulous coastal villages, the beautiful river Esk and with the national park on the doorstep. A perfect retreat for a romantic getaway.

Full of character and situated in the picturesque village of Sleights on the river Esk. The village benefits from an excellent range of local village shops and amenities, including a train station taking you the 3 miles to the popular coastal town of Whitby in just two stops. Experience the iconic steam train puffing along from Whitby to Pickering via 'Hearbeat' country in Goathland on the 'North Yorkshire Moors Railway'. Or, head further afield to York or Leeds for a grand day out. You are right on the doorstep of the glorious North York Moors national park too where you can experience true 'Dark Skies' first-hand and a host of activities and events all year round.

Entering through the front door from the garden into a porch; the warm and welcoming lounge has a woodburner, original beams and an exposed stone flag floor with rugs. There is a comfortable sofa and armchair to sink into. After your days out and about exploring this beautiful area, you can snuggle up and relax in front of the lovely warming wood burner. For your entertainment, there is a TV/DVD and even a video player so you can catch up on some of your old favourites from the owner’s wide collection. For a meal in together, there is a dining table and four chairs. The kitchen is bright and spacious and has everything you will need, including an electric oven, ceramic hob, slow cooker, fridge with icebox, dishwasher and microwave. The owner has also added a wonderful collection of memorabilia to make you smile and remind you of simpler times. Beyond the kitchen, a step-down leads you to the retro-style reading room with a sofa bed and bookshelves filled with DVDs, videos and board games to keep you amused for hours. Stairs in the lounge lead you up to the charming bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and hairdryer. The quality bedding and cushions ensure a good night's sleep. Wake up to a lovely cup of tea, made in the perfectly working teas-made. Across the landing, the bathroom is light and airy with a freestanding, roll top bath with ball and claw feet, a separate shower cubicle and WC. After your day, relax with a soak in bath with complimentary bubble bath.

A door from the reading room takes you to the rear, enclosed patio which can be a real suntrap. There is a table and chairs to allow you extend your day with a glass of wine or a morning coffee. To the front there is a garden filled with a variety of plants and shrubs. Parking is on the road in front of the property and there are plenty of other on-road places to park, plus there is a free car park nearby.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
