This stylish and luxurious detached cottage is located in a peaceful setting amid 30 acres of beautiful private grounds with a wood burner and fully enclosed garden, close to excellent local amenities.

This spectacular property is tucked away in the grounds of a magnificent baronial house, with over 30 acres of grounds for you and your pups to explore. The cottage sleeps four guests and two hounds, making it perfect for a romantic couples’ retreat or peaceful family getaway. The royal burgh of Biggar is just 2 miles away; stroll around the medieval streets and browse the independent shops and eateries, many of which welcome furry visitors. From here, walk to the top of Tinto Hill for commanding views over the Clyde Valley.

The luxurious stone-built cottage features chic furniture and elegant touches, to make your stay feel extra special. Enter via the stunning sunroom, which overlooks the landscaped garden and is the perfect spot for the woofers to make themselves at home. From here, move into the light and bright lounge, where you can unwind in front of the SkyTV or curl up with a good book. Outside, there is a pretty front garden as well as a rear enclosed garden where your canine companions can happily potter around. There’s also outdoor furniture, so you can enjoy an aperitif or evening meal on a sunny afternoon.

The surrounding area is a haven for walking enthusiasts. Around the corner from Tinto Hill, you’ll find Culter Fell (4 miles). A climb to the summit, across rolling grass and heather-clad crests, will get the heart pumping and tails wagging and, as you’d hope, the view from the highest point in South Lanarkshire is simply breathtaking. Further afield, Grey Mares Tail Nature Reserve (just over 30 miles) is another fantastic place to visit with your four-legged chums. There’s a range of different walks to choose from, leading you to one of the UK’s highest waterfalls. Also look out for ospreys and nesting peregrine falcons.

A beautiful lodge located in a gorgeous setting/ grounds. We found the Lodge very homely and clean. Great quality equipment throughout the property. A great area for walking with your pooches. The grounds had lots of wildlife which was a delight. We would definitely return and would highly recommend a stay at Hartree Lodge.

This is a really great Lodge set in beautifully managed grounds, the dog loved it. The furniture and decor are good quality and certainly to our taste, minimal with a mid century/skandi feel.
