This impressive farmhouse is brimming with old-world charm, providing a base for eight guests to explore ancient woodland, majestic mountain ranges and the glacial lakes of Bassenthwaite and Derwentwater.
Situated on the edge of Whinlatter Forest, this magnificent property is a fabulous base for hounds and humans who love exploring the great outdoors. The holiday cottage sleeps eight guests and one pup, making it a great choice for family gatherings and getaways with friends. Head out on foot and paw into the mountainous forest surrounding the property or jump in the car to explore Lake District highlights such as Keswick and Derwentwater (3.5 miles). The characterful property is full of original charm and boasts a large, enclosed lawn for the woofer to play on.
The farmhouse is located at the end of a quiet country lane. A warm welcome awaits inside, thanks to two roaring wood burners and underfloor heating (which Fido, in particular, will appreciate!) The property is incredibly spacious, with a lounge and snug providing ample room for everyone to relax. At the heart of the home is the vast kitchen/diner. Enjoy memorable evenings together, sharing great food and reminiscing about your day. There’s also ample space in here for the dog bed. An original staircase, with many steps and turns, leads to the bedrooms, so take care when ascending and descending, particularly at night. To the front of the farmhouse is an enclosed lawn where children and the hound can play. You’ll also find a patio to the rear, with beautiful views and furniture for dining alfresco.
You’ll find plenty to keep everyone entertained in Whinlatter Forest, including your four-pawed pal. Let them lead the way along the many waymarked trails, before settling down for a picnic under the trees whilst the energetic members of the party take on the high ropes and zip wires at Go Ape. Alternatively, spend a peaceful afternoon at Bassenthwaite Lake (2.5 miles), meandering along its western shores.
