This superb property dates back over 300 years ago and was once the heart of a working family farm, completely renovated with plenty of period charm with a contemporary twist, this property is ideally located for everyone.

Sleeping 10 humans across five bedrooms, plus two lucky hounds, this historic Yorkshire farmhouse with mature enclosed gardens, offers contemporary-style interiors with bold designs and creative vibes. Perfect for holidays with family and friends, it’s a short drive to the popular market town of Richmond (3.5 miles) and its castle boasts panoramic views over the Yorkshire Dales. Enjoy walking, cycling and bridle trails from the doorstep, and find ample off-road parking for six cars, garden bike storage, and stables next to the property for four ponies.

Take a step up to the cottage door from the gravel drive. Plan movie nights in the lavish lounge where pup pals can curl up by the toasty wood burner. There’s a shower room with WC and two bedrooms on the ground floor (one with access down a step to the garden), plus a family bathroom, three bedrooms (including one en-suite, and a four-poster) up cottage-style stairs. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for family meals, or on sunny evenings, cook up an al fresco feast with the charcoal BBQ and firepit and enjoy the leafy garden views where stick-chasers will entertain you with fun and frolics. Be careful though as they’ll expect you to rise from your cosy corner to join in the canine spirit of fun!

Source original gifts and local food produce in the pretty market towns of Leyburn (8.5 miles), and Middleham, where you can also go horseracing or visit Richard III’s castle keep (10.5 miles). Further afield, visit the romantic ruins of 12th-century Jervaulx Abbey (14 miles) where pups are welcome on leads. Visit Northallerton (20 miles) where you can enjoy scrumptious scones and afternoon tea in its popular tearoom, just remember to shop for pup treats or it will be a long journey home.

I stayed with 10 of my family and friends to celebrate my upcoming wedding. We arrived to a warm, clean and cosy farmhouse with a fab welcome basket on the table. We had everything we needed and more. The views were stunning and Richmond, only a 10 minute drive away, is a lovely town to explore. There is a camping site opposite the house which was Read morenot open at the time of our visit, so cant give an insight on how this would be in the open season. Our stay can be described as adequate at best. After reading the reviews we were worried. The property from the outside doesnt look like the photos, it is over grown, but its winter so we werent too fussed about outside. As other recent users have said Green Lane Farm has clearly been neglected by its owners and is no longer a 4 Star accomodation. We found an overflowing cesspit with human waste on the lawn which meant our dogs could not use the garden and half of it was unsafe to use. We had problems with mice droppings in kitchen cupboards, flies in the bedrooms,Read more only one useable shower for 10 people, no working TV, limited kitchen equioment etc. The Owner and agency need to sort out the issues asap! Had an amazing stay. 8 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs, we were never short of room and it was lovely for us all to be able to relax together in the lounge on an evening as there was ample seating for us all. Upon arrival there was a lovely welcome basket with coffee, tea and milk so we were able to enjoy a cup of tea whilst unpacking.

Green Lane Farm is located in the most fabulous part of N. Yorkshire in a lovely village. It is not found however as seen in the photos, it is tired and worn, the garden is unrecognisable and overgrown and in place of the sheep and horses shown in the pictures there is a glamping site. The owner is trying to make it work, a lovely welcome basket waRead mores left for us and the camping has a 10.30 curfew. There is only 1 shower ( + 2baths) for 10 people.
