This delightful stone property is nestled within the quiet village of Rosthwaite, a tranquil village at the heart of the Lake District National Park. An idyllic retreat for couples along with two waggy-tailed pups, this stone property is within easy reach of iconic destinations including Derwentwater, Buttermere and Crummock Water, all within 9 miles. Weary from your travels, return with armloads of local produce and enjoy a slap-up meal for two, slipping a few tasty morsels to your tufty-pawed pal.

Positioned on the first floor and accessed via a shared hallway, your accommodation is simply presented with views across the village. There is a pleasant lounge with an armchair and a sofa for snuggling up and watching TV, and the kitchen – although compact – is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. You’ll find a cosy bedroom and a shower room too, ideal for a restful night’s sleep. Downstairs, the shared garden has seating for sipping your morning coffee al fresco. Off-road parking is available for one car.

Walk, scamper or cycle your way around the Borrowdale Valley, following endless footpaths through an ever-changing landscape of stunning countryside. Water sports, fishing and golf are popular throughout the national park, but no visit is complete without scaling a peak such as Dale Head, 3.5 miles away. Bustling Keswick, 6.5 miles away, has a treasure trove of shops, eateries and amusements; in contrast, Grasmere (18 miles away) is quintessential and charming with a relaxed vibe and a local delicacy Fido will swoon over: gingerbread.

The cottage is very well equipped and the facilities/equipment were excellent. It was spotlessly clean and cosy. It's in the perfect location for us given our love of the Borrowdale Valley. We parked the car up on arrival and it didn't move till we left. Plenty of walks from the door and a very good bus service.

The apartment is in an ideal spot in Rosthwaite. You can get the bus just outside so it would be ideal for a car free holiday. It was very clean, compact, comfortable and very well equipped. I imagine the shared garden would be a great asset in warmer months. Although there are other apartments in the building, we didnt hear any noise. The allocateRead mored parking for 3 would involve being blocked in if all the accommodation was full. It was fine for the two cars using it when we were there. Hide

We have stayed in this complex before and the location is amazing, the kitchen well stocked and there is some suitable parking nearby. The main complaint from me was the cold, it was a particularly cold weekend in January and there is no way of controlling the heating in the accommodation, you just have to wait for the heating to kick in at the speRead morecified times and start to warm the rooms. I was so incredibly cold, so make sure to bring a blanket and possibly a little heater. Hide

Well equiped, comfortable and in a great location right on the Cumbria Way in the heart of Borrowdale.. Buses every half hour up and down the valley from outside the building. There's even a bus to Buttermere via Honister Pass and to Catbells. Great if you don't want to drive for the duration The only issue is poor Wifi in main part of flat.

I have stayed here before and was very pleased to return. It's a shame the shop below the flat is now closed though. I love the location. There are fabulous walks from the door and a very good regular bus service to all areas of the Lakes. I came by public transport and could have easily stayed longer and filled many more days.

Cracking location for exploring Borrowdale. Well equipped, warm and surprisingly quite considering there are multiple lets in the building. Only negative is while there is a space big enough for three cars to park in the designated area for 3 lets it is very hard to park 3 cars without blocking at least one in.
