Upstairs is a much cosier affair, with the ‘Great Hall' style sitting room boasting an open fire and heated stone flooring. A short 1-mile walk leads you to the bank of the River Dulnain, a great place to spot brown trout and jumping salmon. Heading a little further along, the wee town of Grantown-on-Spey lies just 4.5 miles away and boasts plenty of dog-friendly local pubs in which to grab a drink or a bite to eat. Your two beloved family members will adore the wide range of walkies routes here in the Cairngorms and will no doubt happily take the lead in summitting the Munro Ben Macdui (18 miles).
