Gather the pack and embark on an adventure surrounded by the dramatic beauty of Angus, Scotland. Sleeping four along with two beloved hounds in a charming period cottage, you are well-placed to sniff out exhilarating trails across majestic hills, secluded glens and white sandy beaches. Set off on paw to explore the nearby North Esk River, tucking into some traditional fodder at a local pub. On your return, fire up the wood burner and discover a fantastic welcome pack from the owners, which contains treats, dishes, poo bags and even a bed for waggy-tailed guests!
The property, tucked away on the owner’s grounds, is comfortable and beautiful finished, from two cosy lounges and a country cottage-style kitchen, to two spacious bedrooms and a bathroom with a fantastic corner bath. Your canine companion will be unable to resist the lure of the wood burner, so why not relax with a wee dram whilst letting sleeping dogs lie. The garden outside is a safely enclosed haven for the younger (and furrier) members of the family to play. There’s plenty of wildlife nearby so look out for special visitors such as barn owls, roe deer, and even elusive red squirrels!
Pack a picnic and satisfy your inner explorer, choosing from the Grampian Mountains on your doorstep, Cairngorms National Park 16 miles away, or the spectacular coastline 13 miles away. A popular walk is the stunning ‘blue door’ trail to the Rocks of Solitude, less than 4 miles away. Be sure to remember your camera to capture the dramatic views and breath-taking surroundings! Change pace with a gentle stroll around a nearby village such as Edzell, 4 miles away, featuring a medieval castle and plenty of places to eat.
