Unwind in peace with your pup in the heart of the Lancashire countryside, and enjoy fun days out at the coast to feel the gentle sea breeze in your hair (or fur). This three-bedroom cottage is the perfect spot for families to get away from it all but still be within easy reach of a host of attractions, including Blackpool and the Forest of Bowland.

Inside, original beams and exposed brickwork show off the grandeur of this stylish barn, which features an impressive open-plan lounge/diner. Savour a hearty breakfast or special dinner sat around the oak dining table as you chat about your holiday plans. In the evenings, curl up on the six-seater corner sofa to watch a film on the Smart TV, with Fido warming his fur beside the wood burner-effect gas fire. Upstairs, you’ll find three comfortable bedrooms, including one with a spacious bathroom – your sanctuary for long soaks in the bath after busy days of exploring. Outside is an enclosed private terrace where your canine can stretch his legs while you enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine.

The Forest of Bowland (10 miles) boasts exciting hiking routes that will keep your canine enthralled. These include a forest walk around Brock Bottom, also the perfect pitstop for a picnic beside the river. Other lovely walks can be found along the Lancaster Canal, 6 miles from the property. All the family can enjoy a trip to the popular seaside town of Blackpool (8.5 miles), home to an iconic theme park, long stretch of promenade and the world-famous illuminations. Just up the coast from Blackpool is Bispham Beach, where canine holidaymakers can frolic throughout the year.

Lovely property, lovely village. The bakery, fish and chip shop round the corner were both amazing. Would return.

This is a very nicely put together cottage, very private. We found it clean and spacious. The village is a lovely setting with good local amenities. The butchers and the bakers and the fish and chip shop where exceptional.
