Relax with loved ones in this stunning retreat with your own private hot tub and sauna, surrounded by outstanding scenery in this outstanding location in the Cairngorms National park.

Gloriously positioned amid the spectacular scenery of the beautiful Glen Clova, lap up the fresh mountain air and unwind in this tranquil home. Set tails wagging with walkies galore right from the doorstep, exploring wooded glades, rugged mountains and open fields. Having roamed the highlands all day, soothe your limbs in the sauna, relax in style in the hot tub and enjoy an evening glass of wine under the stars, whilst your canine chum curls up dreaming of tomorrow’s antics.

Perfectly situated to make the most of the spectacular surroundings, this delightful lodge is on a complex of properties, yet retains its privacy and seclusion. Take off your coats and boots and wipe mud-splattered paws before trotting through to the bright yet cosy open-plan living space. Timber walls and floors give a rustic cabin feel, and the ambience is contemporary yet cosy. Double doors lead to the decking and garden so your pup can happily potter in and out whilst you settle on the comfortable sofa with your feet up. Garden furniture means you can make the most of the weather morning, noon and night for al fresco dining, and your tufty-pawed comrade can sniff and snout about or simply sprawl on the grass catching the rays.

The nearby area has abundant wildlife and many a lung-bursting, tongue-lolling walk, and with a pub and restaurant within walking distance, it’s easy to relax at the end of the day. Discover Loch Brandy (2 miles), a peaceful loch surrounded by steep crags and the dramatic bowl of Corrie Fee (4 miles) on your doorstep. Tackle Mayar and Diersh (3.5 miles) - the local Munroes - for a challenge, or take a ramble along forest trails up White Water (5 miles). Further afield, try the circuit at Loch Kinnordy (15 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 king-size and 1 twin
  • 2 en-suite shower rooms
  • Electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine
  • Private hot tub and sauna
  • Electric and central heating included
  • Ample off-road parking
  • Wi-Fi available in the hotel

  • Shop 12 miles, pub and restaurant within walking distance
  • Complex of properties

  • Private water supply

For a family meal out, the Glen Clova Hotel is only 1 mile away from the lodge. You can find more options in the nearby town of Kirriemuir (14.5 miles), where there are pretty cafes and popular takeaways to choose from. While there, rediscover the magic of Peter Pan with a visit to beloved writer J. M. Barrie’s birthplace, and then children can fly away to Neverland and sail with pirates in the Peter Pan Park.

Set off on a walk through the beauty of the Cairngorms National Park from the Glen Doll Ranger Centre (5 miles). There are moderate trails to suit different abilities and one of the waymarked routes will take you to Corrie Fee National Nature Reserve, a natural amphitheatre carved out by ice.

Further afield, drive to Forfar Loch Country Park (17.5 miles) with a picnic and your binoculars. Walk the 2.5-mile circuit around the loch and see who can spot the most local wildlife, which includes deer, otters and foxes. Glamis Castle (18.7 miles) is a fantastic family trip with choices for how to spend your day; take a tour of the castle and hear stories from your guide, explore the various gardens including the spooky Macbeth Trail, before picking up souvenirs of your holiday in the gift shop.

From the beginning to the end our stay in the lodge was perfect. It was very clean and the restaurant at the hotel where we had a few meals was 1st class. This was amazing for September / October and the hot tub / sauna made our stay very relaxing. I will be returning to Glen Clova as the scenery was out of this world and our stay was faultless. Lovely spacious lodge in a very quiet location. Not the best equipped lodge we have stayed but an excellent layout.
