An exquisite quaint barn conversion tucked away in the breathtaking Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a truly tranquil getaway for two in a romantic countryside setting.
Anyone who has ever fancied just getting away from it all for a while, will be in heaven in this gorgeous little barn conversion in the North Yorkshire countryside.
Full of romance, it’s a charming hideaway straight out of a fairytale. Cosy up in the stylish open-plan living space in front of the wood burner with a glass of wine while dinner is cooking, before sitting down at the table for two beside the window overlooking the garden. Keen chefs can select fresh herbs and fruit from the mini orchard and herb garden outside, and if the weather is good, throw open the cute stable door and let the country air flow in. You could even light the BBQ and enjoy dinner alfresco, with a choice of two sitting areas and plenty of lawn for the dogs to lounge in the sun. The bedroom has a delightful European-inspired decor with crisp white linens, golden furniture and floral touches, that will soothe you into a long, restorative sleep.
There are countryside walks aplenty surrounding this cottage, and trails of varying length in the Howardian Hills 2 miles away. It’s 3 miles to nearby Hovingham village, which boasts pubs, shops and an excellent tearoom, while Castle Howard, 8 miles away has some beautiful dog-friendly grounds to explore, as well as the impressive stately home itself. For something different in the summer months, take a trip to Yorkshire Lavender, 6 miles from the house, and wander the aromatic lavender maze and sculpture park with stunning views over the Vale of York.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
