This lovely cottage in the waterside village of Golant has been thoroughly modernised inside, making it a top choice for a family break on the beautiful southern Cornish coast.
Whether you’re visiting in the depths of winter or in glorious summer sunshine, you’ll love returning to this welcoming home after a day out exploring. Enjoy late nights chatting over drinks beside the cosy wood burner, followed by leisurely brunches in the spacious kitchen/diner - or blissful early bedtimes in the cosy en-suite bedrooms and coffee on the patio in the quiet of the dawn. Let the dogs roam freely in the enclosed garden while you soak in the bubbling hot tub under the stars, or rustle up an al fresco feast on the BBQ. However you do it, you’ll be relaxed and rejuvenated in no time.
For the more sociable families there is a bar on-site cleverly created from an old Silo, with outdoor seating. Open once or twice in some weeks, for drinks and food, with occasional live entertainment to which guests will be welcomed with free entry. There is off-road parking for one car. All facilities will be available with sanitising facilities .
The house is half a mile from the village and the shores of the River Fowey. Sit back and watch the changing landscape of the river from the village pub, or take the dogs onto the shore at low tide for some muddy mooches. Follow the river downstream for some more great dog walks, or join the Saints Way trail which stretches across, coast to coast, from Fowey to Padstow. It’s 4 miles to the charming town of Fowey for boat trips and all kinds of watersports for the more adventurous, and 7 miles to Charlestown to see the historic harbour with its beautiful tall ships. Dog-friendly Restormel Castle, 7 miles from the house, is a great place to take a picnic on a sunny day, with stunning countryside views.
