This wonderful three-storey cobb cottage, nestled in a traffic-free zone in the harbour town of Brixham, is ideal for you and your guests – including a furry four-legged one! Sleeping three across two welcoming bedrooms and with plenty of room for your dog to doze, this property is ideal for those who want a quiet retreat that’s still close to the hustle and bustle of a coastal town. Take a walk along the cliffs at Berry Head National Nature Reserve (1.5 miles) to get tails wagging, and tired legs, both two and four, can get some treats in the cafe at the top.

This 300-year-old property, which is just over 100 metres from the harbour and is accessed via a set of steep steps, hasn’t lost touch with its traditional cottage roots. Exposed beams and rustic features are dotted around the cottage, paired with stylish touches like ornate mirrors and contemporary artwork. Antique furniture is found throughout the property and this is complemented by underfloor heating in the living space to keep paws toasty. The quirky, mismatched sofa and chairs in the open-plan living area are in keeping with the age and style of the cottage, and you are beckoned to sink back in front of the wood burner and Smart TV, pup by your feet, while another guest prepares dinner in the beautiful farmhouse-style kitchen. The kitchen has a handy coffee machine as well as everything else needed to whip up tasty treats for your group, and when dinner is ready, serve it at the breakfast bar for three. The bedrooms lend a boutique feel to your stay; wake up among soft, pretty decor and head to the Juliet balcony in the master bedroom to grab glimpses of the sea, or move down to the outdoor area with your morning coffee and bask in the sunshine among the fragrant potted plants.

Take a wildlife cruise from the harbour where you may spot seals, herons or even dolphins along Torbay’s breathtaking coastline. Quiet St Mary’s Bay (1.5 miles) is great for the hounds with excess energy who want to unleash it by running across the sand and shingle, while Elberry Cove (3 miles), with its crystal clear and shallow waters, is perfect for doggy paddles. Climb aboard the replica of the Golden Hind, less than 200 metres from your door, and take a look at the hands-on exhibits or learn about Brixham’s rich history at the Brixham Heritage Museum (less than a mile).

  • Arrival: 15:30 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £150 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £20. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Lovely, quirky cottage which is well equipped and tastefully furnished. The location is wonderful, but also a drawback for those with mobility issues: many steps and mostly uphill. Close to all you need: bars, cafes, shops, and a short drive from many wonderful places to visit. It is a teeny house but a perfect, cosy spot for two. We loved the log Read moreburner and the view over the rooftops. Also, loved imagining the smugglers running through the front and escaping through the window at the back! Hide

Nice tiny cottage well placed in Brixham.I think it is perfect for a couple but not for a family. Steps are quite steep up to the cottage so not for a anyone who is not reasonably fit We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to friends

Yong Seagulls jump up and down when getting fed just above your head in the top bedroom, this starts at around 4.30am so we were sleeping in the small bedroom below. Fledgling in early July. A lot of steps from the road up to the house 100+? Apart from that we had a lovely time.

We loved the location and the cottage has a lot of character, it was a very comfortable place to stay, however we were disappointed with the cleanliness.

Nice spot, but the wees were not treated, the trees and bushes in the enclosed courtyard left it almost unusable. We didn't appreciate the scale of steepness if the approach to the cottage and the trickyness of the stairs in the house. Only got any sun for a couple of hours in the morning so would have liked a bit more option to sit in the sun on tRead morehe courtyard. Lovely place but to challenging for us in future Hide

Nice little cottage, lovely view from top bedroom. No advised for very tall people like us and steep narrow spiral staircase. But very compact and comfortable in a great location, central for the harbour and amenities.

Great location for town but not for people who struggle with steps/uneven paths. Parking at Oxen Cove car park not too far away and level. Lovely cosy cottage and well equipped with starter pack from the host. Enjoyed some great restaurants in Brixham and lovely coast walks

The cottage is lovely and quaint. We'll equipped and the upstairs was lovely an and light. Bed on top floor not very comfy though. Brilliant location. Shame the town was mainly closed but a lovely relaxing holiday. Thank you

I have had a fabulous holiday, the dog friendly cottage is a great with the harbour and south coast path minutes away. The car park is located a few minutes walk from the cottage which is well equipped, cosy and a joy to stay in, it is tucked away from the road with a lovely outside space. Right in the heart of brixham 5 mins to shops Amazing view from 3rd floor! Lots of steep steps so not for the less agile Parking - if your prepared to walk - lots of free parking at the top, via corkscrew bend Plenty of shops, fish and chips close by, and we saw seals in the harbour! Lovely cottage .. great for coastal path . Lots of steps to access cottage but not a problem. Parking is in car park which is a walk away & is 54 for 8 days.
