This is an ideal couple’s retreat within walking distance to the waterfront hosting a wide range of shops, eateries, galleries and a pretty quay.
As you step inside this cosy accommodation found on a quiet traffic-free lane, you will be greeted by a homely open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. The comfortable lounge comes complete with a wood burner, perfect for cosying up with your pups after a long day of exploring. The kitchen area offers everything you’ll need to prepare and cook meals together and as you make your way up the cottage style stairs, you’ll find a comfortable bedroom to retreat to along with a well-appointed bathroom with a relaxing roll-top bath. Outside, there is a small secure area providing a safe place to store surfboards or bikes.
Appledore is home to a plethora of restaurants, traditional country pubs, galleries and even a maritime museum, so if you’re planning on adjusting to the relaxed pace of village life, there really is no reason to leave. Although, if you’re looking to explore further, you can take a leisurely stroll to Westward Ho! where you will find amusements, restaurants and a sandy beach, or catch the ferry across the estuary during the summer months to visit the neighbouring village of Instow, home of a yacht club. For scenic dog walks, drive 14 miles along the coast to visit Clovelly, or 27.5 miles to cross the border to Cornwall and visit the popular seaside destination of Bude. If you’d prefer to venture inland, Exmoor National Park lies just 25 miles from the cottage.
