Enjoy exploring this stunning part of Suffolk from this two bedroom cottage situated in the quiet village of Friston

Discover the spectacular Suffolk Heritage Coast with your delightful dog right by your side. Up to two of your four-legged friends are welcome to join you at this charming cottage, which is set in a complex of homes within the village. From here, explore the county’s beautiful heathland or tire yourselves out on its unspoiled sandy beaches, just 4 miles from your base in quiet Friston.

You and all your holiday companions will find your charming base just perfect for that spell away together. It will be a home-from-home to return to after all that fresh sea air. Cook up a treat in the kitchen, then pull up a chair in the dining room while your happy hound beds down in front of the wood burner. This inviting country-style room also features attractive exposed brick and beam work. Those wishing to watch TV can keep their dozing dog company in here while their companion might choose to retire to the garden room with a good book. French doors from here lead out onto the enclosed garden, where you and Fido can indulge in the privacy of your own outside space. Head upstairs at the end of your busy day to one of two bedrooms; the bathroom is also on this level.

Give your much-loved companions a new leash of life by following the Suffolk Coast Path from beach to beach. They will embrace the great stretches of sand at Southwold and Walberswick, approximately 14 miles away, with gusto. Afterwards, they might pick up a treat or two – and certainly a refreshing drink of water – while you tuck into fish and chips at one of the many dog-friendly pubs nearby.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Quirky lovely cottage. Would repeat other comments in that it is in great need of a coat of paint. But would love to stay there again if a shower was installed.

Location is excellent, lovely village and close to Orford, Snape, Southwold and Aldeburgh. Pub directly across the road. Downstairs is dated but comfortable, WiFi is very good. Please be aware of the lack of a shower and we found the bath awkward and unsafe to use.

This is very basic accommodation. The bathroom is not suitable for any one taller than 165 cms or with a mobility issue.

We enjoyed staying in this old, centrally located cottage, especially having breakfast in the sunny courtyard garden. The kitchen is well equipped & the sitting room very comfortable with nice homely touches. The beds were very soft & bouncy. Quiet village with wonderful dark skies Easy to drive to amazing beaches and places. Fine with the dog and garden enclosed. Bathroom is basic but clean and functional and we did have to thi k about timing of baths to stop water running out. We had an amazing week and Sunday lunch at pub opposite was brilliant.

Nice cottage well placed for visiting both the coast and surrounding countryside. Dog was in heaven. But unless you are very short having a bath is impossible and no shower

Plus: An ideal location for the East Suffolk coast and surrounding small towns. The Chequers Pub opposite is outstanding for friendliness and serves very good food. WiFi is good Minus: We did not enjoy a week without a shower and though I could get in and out of the bath, tall husband with arthritic knee had no chance.
