The pretty village of Hawkshead is renowned for its links to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth and both literary figures are celebrated in the village’s National Trust properties. There a variety of local shops in the village along with a host of pubs and cafés. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both situated within five miles of the property and offer plenty of opportunities for boat rides, water sports, and scenic walks around their shores.

Entering this fine cottage, you will find yourself in the hall area with hooks and boot rack to store those muddy clothes after a day exploring this wonderful region. Firstly, is the main shower room with a shower and WC. Next is the kitchen, which still retains the original beams and exposed stone wall, here you will find all you need to cook up a storm with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dining area for all. The first of the bedrooms is on the ground floor, a double with a lovely exposed wall. Heading up to the first floor we arrive straight into the lounge which offers the perfect place to kick back and relax. With a spot of colour this room really is the beating heart of the house with two sofas surrounding the flame effect electric fire and TV/DVD. The snug is located at the back of the lounge with a leather sofa and TV, the ideal place to watch a movie after a day out and about. The second bedroom is located of the lounge, a double with an en-suite shower and WC.

Outside you will find a patio area with seating to enjoy those sunny days and a small stream at the bottom. Roadside parking, subject to availability (two parking permits provided).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This is a lovely little cottage. It has everything that one would need. Great kitchen, well stocked. Lovely bedrooms spotlessly clean and comfortable. Overall I have no complaints, would stay here again.
