An idyllic retreat set within a peaceful village in the Yorkshire Dales, offering a tranquil getaway and set close to a number of bustling cities and towns waiting to be explored.
This exquisite cottage in the tranquil village of Marton-le-Moor in North Yorkshire is the ideal rural retreat for families and their furry friends. Situated between the Nidderdale and Howardian Hills Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and near to the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks, two-legged and four-legged guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing picturesque ‘walkies’ with breathtaking views. There are also plenty of local towns and villages nearby, which all boast history, beauty and independent shops/eateries.
This property is as attractive on the inside as it is on the outside; its French country-chic décor blends with traditional touches, contemporary design and a neutral palette to create a unique, but classy, style. On entering, you will find yourself in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The focal point of the lounge area is its wood burner, which makes it feel cosy and comfortable. The kitchen/dining area is well-equipped and spacious allowing plenty of room for socialising. Upstairs, there are two pretty bedrooms (one king-size and one twin) with an en-suite bathroom and an en-suite shower room. Outside, there is a delightful, enclosed courtyard garden with dining furniture.
With walking trails on your doorstep, there’s no need to stray far, but further afield, the cathedral city of Ripon (5 miles) has a Thursday market, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and a nice collection of independent shops to explore. For history, there are lots of castles and historic buildings nearby including Ripley Castle (11.5 miles), but you’ll have to give Fido a rest day, as dogs aren’t allowed in the grounds. For something different, visit the National Trust’s Brimham Rocks (14 miles) where you can stroll around or climb on the fascinating rock formations. For a taste of city life, visit Harrogate (15 miles) and York (23 miles).
