Looking to spend some quality time with your significant other – and keen to take the dogs along too? This beautiful rural cottage is the perfect bolthole for you all to spend a wonderful holiday together in picturesque North Yorkshire. With a national park just 15 miles away and the North Pennines 24 miles from the house, you’ll be well situated for long, satisfying walks that both you and your beloved canines will go mutts for. The house sleeps two people and up to two dogs, so is well suited for a romantic getaway.
This stylish, modern cottage is thoughtfully decorated, with special touches such as a rainfall shower to make it extra welcoming. It has an open-plan layout with a lounge/kitchen/diner where you can relax with your loved one, perhaps watching something on TV while the dogs doze at your feet. Heading outside, there’s a wood-fired hot tub where you can take a dip after a long day out walking – your tired muscles will be sure to thank you. There’s a large enclosed garden for four-pawed guests to run around in, plus a table and chairs for the humans. If they need a longer workout, there are fields surrounding the house where they can let off more steam.
The house is in Stapleton, a small village with the River Tees running through it. Head into Darlington (3.5 miles) for a pint in a dog-friendly pub. The North Yorkshire National Park (15 miles) is your best bet for good-length walking trails – pack up some sandwiches and pick a route. For a day out by the sea, head to Seaton Carew (28 miles) where you’ll find mile upon mile of sandy beaches which Tucker will love to sniff out.
