A perfect base for your family holiday in the Brecon Beacons. Children and dogs will love the large garden lawn and there are miles of trails to explore right on the doorstep.
Soothe all your stresses away in this peaceful hamlet in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. This traditional white-washed cottage, dating back over 200 years, is around a mile from the friendly village of Talybont-on-Usk, just a stroll away for a delicious pub lunch. Acres of open spaces also beckon in the countryside surrounding the village for the boisterous hound in your life. After tiring out your boy with games of fetch, snuggle up together in front of the open fire for some quiet family time together.
Hang up leads and coats in the handy downstairs cloakroom when you return from days out in the wilds, before relaxing on the comfortable seating in the beamed living area. Watch TV or choose a game from the selection provided while your worn-out pup has a nap. Steep original stone stairs lead up to the three bedrooms on the first floor. With a king-size, twin and bunk bedroom to choose from, there’s something to suit all ages. Outside, the enclosed garden is bordered by original dry-stone walls, offering a safe space for children and dogs to play in. Enjoy your morning coffee as the birds twitter around you, or sit back with a cooling drink at the end of the day as the sun goes down.
Pre-breakfast walkies are a joy here as the Taff Trail and Henry Vaughan Trail both run along the valley behind the cottage, while the picturesque Talybont Reservoir is a mile away. You can also enjoy dog-friendly walks through woodland and alongside the Blaen-y-Glyn waterfalls, 5 miles from the property. Alternatively, take a scenic 10-mile drive over the peaks to Brecon Mountain Railway for a nostalgic steam train ride. Dogs are welcome aboard for a small fee.
