Sleeping two guests plus one canine companion, this tranquil property provides the perfect base for a romantic retreat. Switch off from everyday life, surrounded by rolling hills and breathtaking views. Your furry friend will also have a whale of a time, running around the rugged terrain of Exmoor and finding lots of new scents to sniff and trails to explore. You’ll be perfectly located to visit some great local attractions, such as the picturesque village of Withypool and the beautiful Tarr Steps.
On entering the property, you’ll go straight into the lounge/kitchen/diner. Here, you and your hound can enjoy curling up in front of the cosy wood burner after a long day on the moor. Downstairs you’ll find hard floors – ideal for wiping up muddy pawprints – and there’s a handy cloakroom to store your walking gear. Outside, down some steps, is a small enclosed garden. Should you need it, there’s also a kennel and run on-site and a hose and sink to clean dirty boots and paws after a day of adventure.
Just 7 miles away is the picturesque village of Withypool. From here, you can follow the Two Moors Way to Tarr Steps – the longest ‘clapper’ bridge in Britain. There’s a lovely shady walk you can take by the river, and your dog will love splashing in the water on a hot summer’s day. At Tarr Farm Inn you can sit indoors or out, and there are always water bowls provided. Slightly further afield are the villages of Lynton and Lynmouth (19 miles), where dogs are welcome to join you on the cliff railway. Lynmouth beach allows dogs all year round, and there are some delicious eateries including The Ancient Mariner and The Rising Sun. From Lynton you can walk to the dramatic Valley of the Rocks.
