Sleeping eight over four bedrooms, this spacious property in North Devon is ideal for guests with children and two happy hounds. There’s ample parking, plus shops, pubs and leisure amenities in Barnstaple (1.5 miles), and beaches to tempt surfer dudes along the sandy shores of Saunton (8 miles), Westward Ho! (9 miles) and Croyde (11 miles). Guests will love the wild and rugged country trails on Exmoor and the family-friendly beach at Instow (5 miles), which has dog-friendly zones. Back at the property, challenge fellow-guests to a round of world championship snooker, or simply chill out on the balcony and enjoy views of the River Taw.

On arrival, take a few steps to the welcoming ground floor entrance where a decked BBQ patio leads into the living space, two bedrooms, and a shower room. Upstairs, there are two further bedrooms and a shower room, plus a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and lounge with entertainment systems and doors out to a balcony. Four-legged friends will love the variety of rooms to curl up in though they will also enjoy leaping around the huge garden, shared with the two other properties on-site.

Be inspired by the idyllic Italianate terraces and kitchen gardens at dog-friendly Tapeley Park (8 miles). Cycle or walk the 180-mile Tarka Trail, a former railway route; stop at the cafe in Fremington Quay’s old station house which serves home-cooked food – your happy hounds won’t miss out as the cafe also bakes an exclusive dog treat, Quay Bone, best savoured out on the platform area while networking with canine friends. And visit Peppercombe Beach (13 miles), a shingle and rock dog-friendly beach with rock pools and guest appearances from wild seals, dolphins, and ospreys.

Very satisfied with villa as clean, well equipped with a lovely grassed area for relaxing and children to play. In addition snooker table is full sized and enjoyable to use in the evenings. Host welcomed us on arrival and sent some addition emails on directions to villa and local places of interest before we arrived that was useful. The cottage is perfectly located to visit all the tourist attractions, beaches and country walks. Self catering is not a problem as there are a couple of supermarkets nearby and a very good chip shop. As for entertainment there are two televisions, a couple of family games and a very well used (full size) snooker table. There were eight of us stayiRead moreng in the annex and all of us were very happy with the accommodation. Also, Mr Patel was on site and eager to please. Hide

Amazing amount of space. Good amount of parking. Very well furnished kitchen. The coffee tea and milk ready for us when we arrived was a nice touch. Plenty of seating. Great view of the sunset from the balcony. Great location for getting places in north Devon. Supermarket very close. Great gardens. Would definitely come again.

Fantastic house. Loads of room for eight people. And the snooker table was great - especially given the typical British weather. We took our dog - the grounds were big enough for a first walk of the morning. Overall Brilliant

We have had a wonderful week here, the house is perfect for two families sharing, plenty of space to eat and spend time together. Amazing views, we spent a lot of time on the balcony. Very central location, beaches within 10 mins, lots of places within 30 min drive.
