This beautiful three-storey cottage, situated in the pretty village of Appledore, is perfect for all the family – including up to two four-legged members! Sleeping five across three cosy bedrooms with plenty of space for the pups to relax, you could all soon be enjoying long walks along the South West Coast Path and along the estuary beach, just over half a mile from the property. The quay is also just over 150 metres down the hill from the home. The owners have thought of everyone here; you’ll find dog biscuits and a shiny bowl, so the pups will have their creature comforts, too.
The property, located on a pretty terraced street, is spacious and comfortable. The galley kitchen has everything you need to cook up a hearty meal while exposed beams and a stone fireplace in the living room beckon you to sink into the sofas in front of the wood burner-effect fire, with your loyal hounds by your feet. Upstairs, the bedrooms feature quaint coastal touches that make them peaceful places to retreat to after a long day; kids will love the top floor twin room with views across the estuary and a Nintendo Wii to keep them occupied!
Appledore is a fantastic location to stay in to discover North Devon. In the summer months, catch the ferry over to Instow (1 mile; 5 miles by car) and stroll along the beach before stopping for lunch in one of the pubs. If you’re happy travelling by water, make sure you take the boat trip to Lundy Island from Bideford (3.5 miles), to spot puffins, seals and maybe even dolphins. The 2-mile-wide beach at Westward Ho! is only 3 miles away and has dog-friendly spots all year round, while the Milky Way Adventure Park also welcomes pups and will delight children.
