Approached by its own private drive within an 18 acre estate this detached property sits in an elevated position accessed by steps overlooking the surrounding woodland area.

This secluded log cabin, on the outskirts of Skelwith Bridge, in the Lake District, is the perfect spot for a tranquil getaway. Sleeping four guests across two bedrooms, this charming property also offers space for two furry friends meaning the whole family can discover this delightful corner of the Lake District together. With stunning views towards the Langdale Valley, plus an enormous 18-acre private estate to explore, both you and your canine companions will have a ball!

Inside, the spacious interior is a comforting blend of Scandi chic and retro features. Gather the troops for breakfast around the rustic dining table before grabbing your ball launcher and venturing into the woods. Or simply curl up in the cosy lounge with Mutley at your feet and listen to the birds go by. Two stylish bedrooms offer plenty of space for the dog to snooze while a shower room is on hand to clean up any mucky pups after a long day of adventure. Outside, savour the fresh air on the raised patio area while your four-legged friends laze in the early evening sunshine. The highlight of this property is its magnificent setting. Its 18-acres of surrounding woodland is bursting with wildlife and ripe for exploring on two legs or four.

With wonderful woodland walks right on your doorstep, you’d be forgiven for nestling in but if you fancy a doggy day out, why not venture to the nearby Langdale Pikes (3 miles) and enjoy the 8-mile round walk to the Old Dungeon Ghyll. Or treat the family to a day out at the National Trust’s Hill Top (5 miles), home of Beatrix Potter. Although Peter Rabbit kindly asks that furry visitors stay in the welcome area.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

In short this cottage is worth serious consideration. I would have booked another few days if it was available. The cabin. Well equipped and clean. A beautiful place, warm and welcoming. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. A great place to stay as its central location gives good access to the whole area. Lovely cabin in a very peaceful location. The pool is a added bonus. My daughter even seen a red squirrel in the woods.

Cottage was OK and in great part of the Lake District. Major drawback was the steepness of the whole site and the steep access to the cottage.

Although part of a holiday complex the positioning of the cabin is really private. Ample,easy parking but the steps up to the cabin would preclude it from any disabled guests The pictures can't convey the wonderful array of birdsong. Especially nice to hear a cuckoo fr the first time in years. Bats are regular visitors in the evening and it's fabulRead moreous to look up at a sky which doesn't have any light pollution. we found the chalet warm,comfortable well equipped attention to detail and a nice seasonal touch with Christmas tree, decorations a bottle of wine and even a turkey tin although we did go to the Wainright for Christmas dinner, We liked the tranquillity of the location all helped by the weather as we did not get wet
