Whether you’re in the area for a mountain hiking retreat or a relaxing country break, this Lake District location offers all you need for the perfect dog walking holiday. You’ll feel like top dog after a night’s sleep in these comfy beds, waking up to morning coffee in the pretty garden and heading out to explore the unbeatable Cumbrian countryside, man’s best friend by your side every step of the way. The home comfortably sleeps seven guests and two canine companions.

This unique property was renovated from two smaller, chocolate-box cottages, creating a unique holiday home filled with original features. To the rear of the property, you’ll find a beautiful garden with a stream meandering past at the bottom. Be sure to keep an eye on unruly pups and younger guests, but feel free to dry off wet paws and chilly children in the handy utility room. Fur can be warmed in front of two wood burners or the ever-toasty AGA, ideal for cosy evenings in after long days out on the hills. In fact, whilst we wish you hot and sunny weather on your countryside break, this home is an exceptionally cosy hub on cold winter’s evenings and you can look forward to nights in with books, board games and sleeping dogs resting dutifully by your side.

Visitors travel far and wide to take in the beautiful landscapes that surround Lake Windermere, and you’ll find this waterside location just 1 mile from your door. Take the lead and head for the water, enjoying a walking route along its shores. You’re within reach of Cumbria’s many fells here in the Lake District, including famed Scafell Pike (30 miles), Old Man of Coniston (8 miles) and Skiddaw (30 miles).

What a stunning location and the cottage was ideal for a family get away. There was plenty of room to spend time together and also space for quiet times. Lovely cottage in a great location but let down by avoidable issues. There was dog messes in the garden, the caffetiere was found dirty in the outside bin, mildew stained pillowcase, little hot water on arrival, and bath plug didn't work (but was repaired on day 3 of our week long stay) . We raised these issues during our stay (2 days into our stayRead more when the office was first open) with a reasonable response and agreement I'd follow up when home from holiday, but no response to my email Hide

Beautiful cottage in the best location. 2 minute walk to a pub, which does great food. It's very warm and cosy. The log fire is the cherry on the cake. Plenty if room, games, tv etc we loved the everhot stove. It made the dining area very cosy and traditional. The location is ideal for walks or just completely getting away from it all and relaxing.

This cottage is in a lovely location! Its a very quiet little village surrounded by countryside with an enclosed garden that was great for our dogs. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are nice but the rest of the cottage is a bit tired. It could really do with a lick of paint with some new furnishings.
