End the day by sinking into one of the cosy beds of the three bedrooms, two of which features a small balcony and feature roll-top bath in its en-suite. The twin bedroom with sloping ceiling is approached via a cottage-style staircase. Outside is the highlight of this exceptional Grade II listed property, a beautiful fenced patio area directly looking out to the estuary, a delightful space to enjoy refreshments. Unrivalled scenic al fresco dining is yours from sunrise to sunset. Indeed, there are wonderful vistas from almost every room, a well-deserved holiday for you and your four-pawed friends.

Appledore, famous for its narrow streets and colourful fishermen’s cottages, is a popular holiday destination all year, with an array of cafes, pubs and restaurants, many dog friendly. Heading slightly further afield, enjoy a day in the seaside village of Westward Ho! (3 miles), known for its beautiful beach and unique pebble ridge, to enjoy rock pooling, surfing or building sandcastles. Bideford, the little white town, is 4 miles, and the cobbled streets of Clovelly, 14 miles. For dog-walking, try Northam Burrows (2 miles), Fremington Quay (10 miles) or the Tarka Trail (12 miles). Don’t forget to have a locally recommended Hocking’s ice cream!

Great location and views. Very peaceful and quiet. Large and spacious house The attic room is suitable for adults. They arent childrens beds! As per the description the main bathroom has a narrow entrance If you have a Blue Badge there is a disabled car parking space at the entrance of New Quay Road

This was a lovely property with amazing views and brilliantly located for walking into Appledore just a few minutes away. It was comfortable, clean and well looked after. The bath was a treat! Although it was made clear in the description that the top floor is for children, adults still have to go up there and with a low ceiling and tight stairs, tRead morehere was a lot of bending down as we are a tall family, just something to be aware of. Fabulous cottage in perfect position to watch the sunrise over the water and boats pass by within feet of the property. Beautifully clean and appointed. We wanted for nothing. Best house we have stayed in. Weve been renting properties for 30 years!

This is a absolutely idyllic location, in a quiet street near the sea front and the shops. Mornings were started gazing over the estuary as the tide lapped nearby. It is absolutely wonderful as well as beautifully presented. One caution - the instructions provided are wrong - the cottage is not on the right, but around the corner after the cottagesRead more you first see on the left towards the lane's end! Our fifth (or might it even be sixth?!) stay at the magical Dock Cottage. It's like a little oasis in our summer and works as beautifully for our family now our girls are in their late teens as it did when they were smaller. The view from the terrace across to Instow will never pale! The house is the perfect combination of cosy and stylish. Our first holiday in 7 years and we chose Dock Cottage because it's in the most sublime location. Tidal Torridge visiting us twice every day, HUGE tide of 21 feet right at our back garden wall. We actually caught 26 crabs (and put them back) with a 2.50 crabbing kit bought in Appledore one evening. Fabulous view across to Instow. Excellent cottage with stunning views and very well equipped. Beautifully clean and neat as a pin. Outside area looked nice to sit but it rained solidly so we didn't really try it out. A little too long a walk by road to find a suitable place for the dog to run off the lead but very dog friendly.

An absolute gem of a cottage, beautifully appointed, quirky and comfortable, stunning views and wonderful location. Loved the coffee shops, dog friendly pubs and the sea front in Appledore. We enjoyed coffee outside on the terrace when we could and loved the vistas in the morning. Spent lots of time talking about the tides which we no nothing aboutRead more but kept us amused. Dock Cottage is a dream come true. A beautiful house, with stunning views from practically everywhere. The pictures really don't do it justice! And Appledore is a lovely place too, just a gentle seaside stroll away from great pubs and food places. Absolutely loved it, and we're definitely coming back!

Dock Cottage is superbly presented and very well equipped. It's clean, bright and has amazing views! Only downside for use was no parking at the property between the hrs of 8am-6pm, so you either need to find a space on the (beach) road, or park in the public car park - approx half a mile away.

We loved this cottage! So comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed. Weve stayed in a few Appledore cottages and this one definitely has the best view, and dog friendly outdoor space. We would highly recommend.

Wow! What an amazing cottage. The location is fabulous! We ate all our meals outside, with the ever changing river views as our backdrop. Crabbing from the decking was fun. The view from the bedrooms is second to none. Waking up to that fabulous sight every morning was a delight , as was sitting in the lovely bay window, doors open, reading.
