A beautiful, 400-year-old chocolate box thatched cottage packed with charm and set in a popular Devon village, offering a truly relaxing year-round getaway.

Sitting prettily in the middle of a row of thatched cottages, this property could be the vanilla portion of a tub of creamy Neapolitan ice-cream. If you’re looking to experience a quintessential Devon home-from-home, you need look no further as this cottage is perfect for a family or two couples wanting a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life along with their precious pup. With easy access to glorious country walks and long sandy beaches, there’s so much here for the whole family to do.

Overflowing with country charm, the cottage is warm and welcoming with a muted palette of blues and greens perfectly accentuating the milky white walls. There are quirky period features which provide clues to the history of the house, such as exposed wooden beams, slanted ceilings and interesting nooks and crannies that are just waiting to be explored. The wood burner in the open-plan lounge/dining area provides a cosy warmth on even the coldest of evenings and the cute enclosed patio garden that’s reached via the kitchen provides an excellent spot to sit and enjoy an evening glass of wine after a tiring day of adventure.

Situated less than 200-meters from the village centre of Winkleigh, you are within walking distance of a selection of pubs and convenience shops. Summerleaze Beach, a golden sandy surfing beach in Bude, is a picturesque 29-mile drive from the property and the perfect place for you and your pup to enjoy digging in the sand and splashing in waves. Quince Honey Farm (16 miles) is a fantastic place for all the family, even the four-legged members, and it offers beekeeping tours and a range of activities.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

What a fabulous charming cottage, the log burning stove at night was just amazing, it had literally everything we needed and more, 20 miles from nearly every beach, fantastic local pub food, woodland walks, we will be back with our dog and newborn baby next year.

The Traphouse cottage was lovely. Really quaint and cosy. Our 6ft Son did have a few bumps to the head due to the low doorways but still enjoyed his holiday.

A delightful and charming cottage in the heart of Devon. Immaculately clean on arrival and the the small touches (cream tea, essential household and toiletry items) are a lovely gesture. Kitchen very well stocked with everything you may need to prepare & cook meals. The village has all the essentials you may need from a well stocked shop to a butchRead moreers shop and very friendly and chatty local residents. Thank you for a lovely week Hide

The cottage was tiny but perfectly formed. It was well equipped and beautifully presented. The stairs both inside and out were steep and could present a problem for people with limited mobility. It was well placed for visiting both the North and south Devon coast.
