Enjoy a taste of farm life with a stay at this former granary where you and your four-legged friends can enjoy a fantastic amount of space in beautiful countryside surroundings, including a fantastic 25 acres of woodland. Exmoor is can be reached within a 12-mile drive, whilst the wilds of Dartmoor are situated 17 miles away, both offering many miles of scenic walks which you and your dog will absolutely love.

Set within the owners’ 125-acre working farm, this cottage is a great place to stay if you are craving open spaces, peaceful surroundings, and fresh country air. Enclosed gardens to both the front and rear of the cottage ensure that there is plenty of space to relax and for your dog and children to run around to their heart’s content. Inside, meanwhile, the cottage has an attractive homely feel with a comfortable lounge and a spacious country-style kitchen/diner. The master bedroom is an especially nice space with a cosy armchair which is a lovely spot for relaxing with a book in the evenings or early mornings.

Take a stroll from this farmland cottage and into the village of Chumleigh less than a mile away, where you will find a choice of shops, a golf course, two dog-friendly pubs, and a riding stable. Driving 25 miles north of the property will bring you to the beaches of the North Devon coast, several of which are open to dogs all-year-round, including those at Northam Burrows and the huge expanse of sand at Saunton Sands where your four-legged friend can run around freely once you are past the marked zone nearest the car park, where they must be kept on a lead.

A lovely cosy cottage on a farm, with a garden, which has the sound of a rill flowing. It has a beautiful outlook on to fields of sheep and hills. Peaceful, sometimes you can hear the Little Dart running along the back of the farm.

I love the clean, comfortable 'Granary' my peaceful home from home, which has everything I need, very close to Chulmleigh. A beautiful setting which is a stone's throw from footpaths for walking, I do a lot, and plenty of places to visit

The property was clean and comfortable but was a bit tired and dated. It is approached from the road down an uneven track for about a quarter of a mile. The owners were on site and were really friendly and lovely.

Lovely cottage, a real home from home. Everything you might need is there. The owners Margaret and John are really nice people and very accommodating, it's just nice to chat with them. The location is great, lovely views across the farm, this is a working farm so don't forget your wellies and walking boots! The town is a half hour walk through the Read morewoodland or 20 minutes up the track and road. There is a convenience store, newsagents and two pubs to chose from or just relax at the farm. Hide

What a fantastic place.Superbly situated to visit both the North and South of the county.The owners where fantastic,really accomodating and friendly.Really enjoyed helping out feeding the lambs on the farm.Will book again.5+
