This contemporary barn conversion was completed in 2021 and is set within an Italian-style courtyard. The striking interior has open-plan space and hints of original character.

Tucked away in the quiet hamlet of Wigbeth, this wonderful property promises an unforgettable escape to guests – including the canine ones! This serene property offers plenty of space for families, friends or couples and up to two pups – you could all soon be off exploring the beautiful village of Beaulieu in the New Forest (29 miles) or stay closer to home to admire the architecture of Wimborne Minster (8 miles).

 

The property, which is part of a complex of holiday homes accessed via a shared courtyard, is spacious and comfortable. The open-plan living area is fresh and bright thanks to vaulted beamed ceilings and large bifold doors that open out onto the garden, but you’ll still find it cosy in the evenings when you want to snuggle up on the sofa in front of the TV. Retreat to one of the two welcoming bedrooms, one super king size and one king size - both can be arranged as twins on request, for a good night’s rest. On lazy days, pack a picnic and head to the shared paddock on-site; the children and pups will love running around together on sunny afternoons.

 

Head off to Badbury Rings (11 miles), an Iron Age hill fort that dates back to 800BC, and see how many wild herbs and flowers you can spot. It’s part of the National Trust’s Kingston Lacy estate (10 miles); make sure you take a stroll around the stunning 17th-century gardens and take one of the 12 way-marked footpaths around the wider estate. But if it’s a beach you’re after, Hamworthy Park (16 miles) is dog-friendly all year round and has a paddling pool (open May – September) and a play area, all framed by beautiful views of Poole Harbour (21 miles) and the Purbeck Hills.

We stayed in no:3 Dairy Cottages for a few nights over xmas and had a wonderful time. Our host met us upon our arrival, she was lovely and quite knowledge of the local area. We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was big enough for four adults and two small dogs. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were welcomed in by the owner. The small problem we had with water temperature was sorted immediately. A quiet location, perfect for touring.

Beautifully clean, very adequately equipped, tastefully decorated and furnished accommodation. Excellent for older or disabled people as all on one level and has walk in showers. On arrival the barn really was 'wow'. It really is beautifully finished. A lovely week, great location to explore Dorset. The hosts were really helpful.

A beautiful modern property (with very helpful owners) set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Well placed for visits to many areas and places of great interest within a reasonable distance. We would love to make a return visit !

We booked 3 Ploughmans Row. The location is superb. The outside area is very nice, and we had a good secure garden for our 2 dogs. The accommodation is open plan, the living space is small for 4 adults, but bedrooms are a good size. Although the property had been open for a year, our accommodation had areas that were unfinished. The cottage is set within a group of five around an attractive open space. For dog walkers there is a paddock (not secure) but no dog walking from the property. The Forestry Commission site is close by but is not safe to walk to.

A lot of thought has gone in to make this a peaceful and relaxing stay. The beds were very big ,very comfortable and very white and clean. Inside modern with the old relax feel. Everything that you need too in the kitchen The corner garden was a peaceful retreat. Highly recommend. Great base for seeing the area

Lovely cottage, enclosed garden ideal for our dog. Great location and Southbourne beach well worth a visit. Good recommendation of The Old Inn at Holt food was delicious and good service too.

Just a lovely place to spend the week, away from it all. A short drive from Wimborne Minster and everything you need on your doorstep in Three Legged Cross, five minutes drive from Morrisons and also Moors Valley Country Park.
