Converted in 2021, this stylish former barn sits within a Italian-style piazza and boasts original roof trusses, views, contemporary furnishings and easy access to the New Forest National Park.

This stunning property, situated in the hamlet of Wigbeth just 9 miles from the edge of the New Forest National Park, is perfect for couples or families that can’t bear to leave their canine companions behind. Sleeping four across two peaceful bedrooms with plenty of space for up to two dogs, this converted barn is an opportunity to take a break from busy life and enjoy the countryside. The property, which is accessed through a courtyard shared with other holiday properties, is spacious and welcoming. Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and huge windows in the open-plan living area make it a pleasure to be in, whether you’re cooking up a storm in the kitchen or lounging on the sofa. Contemporary blends of grey, black and pink stand out and add a little bit of indulgence to your stay. Retreat into one of the ground-floor king bedrooms. Throw open the lounge’s bifold doors to the enclosed garden and dine alfresco or head over to the shared paddock which is perfect for letting your pups unleash it all.

Pay a visit to Wimborne Minster (8 miles) to admire the many Norman, Saxon and Gothic features, or stick closer to home to see Knowlton Church (3.5 miles) which was built within a Neolithic henge monument, known locally as the Rings. Moors Valley Country Park (5 miles) is ideal for kids and dogs to let off some steam. Enjoy sunbathing and paddles at Hamworthy Park and Beach (16 miles), looking out to the superb views over the middle and upper parts of the harbour towards the Purbeck Hills in the distance.

Lovely property which is quiet despite being close to main road; everything you need is provided but could do with a coffee machine; easy access to local sights and only 45 min or go to south coast which is a must, esp Portland light house. Recommended pub in holt is brilliant: dog friendly, great service and delicious food. For any runners out theRead morere (too dangerous to run along road): park near three legged cross and not far is an old railway track converted into a lovely running path. Hide

Lovely clean, warm and welcoming cottage/barn. Beautifully decorated and furnished. We really enjoyed our stay, so did our dogs! Even poo bags for them. Great location for visiting so many places. Very cold weather when we were there but the accommodation was so warm we had to turn radiators down . Would highly recommend it.

Excellent in all regards and nice and warm. Have stayed in cottages before which were quite chilly. This one was perfect with easily controllable temperatures so no heat or energy wasted.

Dairy Cottages is a group of beautifully located countryside properties about 8 miles from lovely Wimborne Minster. Although a more central location would be preferable in some ways, travel to main routes and highways was straightforward and easy to navigate (once the satnav kicks in, which doesnt take long). Helen, Richard and Dan are very welcomiRead moreng and hospitable hosts and were happy to provide anything we required. Plenty of supermarkets close by. Everything was clean, tidy & beds comfy. A pleasant stay. Quiet and peaceful. The beds and sofas were comfortable and the barn was tastefully decorated. However, certain things let it down eg cleanliness and just the general finish. The TV only provided channels via limited apps. A good place to explore this area of Dorset.

Very welcoming cottage, owners friendly and helpful. Not much hanging space for clothes bedrooms a bit small. Nice furnishings and comfortable bed and sofas. Garden/courtyard disappointing as no view to the surrounding countryside- felt rather closed in, but very safe for the dogs. Lovely property, comfortable and plenty big enough for 4 adults. Helpful enclosed courtyard for dogs/small children (if rather overgrown). Owners on hand to sort any issues and suggest places to visit. Great location for Nee Forest, Wimborne Minster and Dorset coast.

This is a super cottage and we had a personal welcome from the owners, which mad a difference. The quality of the accommodation is excellent. There was also an electric car charging point (one f the reasons for choosing this cottage). The cottage was well-equipped and very spacious. We are seriously considering a return in the future.

Very comfortable and well appointed cottage. To confirm previous reviews, be aware that there are no footpaths outside the property and therefore driving is necessary even to take your dog on a walk close by in the woods.

Lovely clean, dog friendly cottage. Absolutely need a car to get around, as even the nearest walk, although nearby has to be driven to first as there are no pavements. It is in a good location for many great sight seeing spots in Dorset. Cakes by Dan & Anna ( the owners son and girlfriend) are delicious :)

A perfect holiday location for The New Forest and for Dorset. The cottage was immaculate and well equipped. The shared courtyard was particularly lovely. Although the cottages were all occupied it was very private and quiet. The Little House next to our cottage make a delicious afternoon tea. The owners were welcoming and helpful but not intrusive.
