A sweet, detached cottage, perfect for those that enjoy walking and the beautiful west Wales coastline. Cosy wood burner for winter breaks and close to Pendine and Laugharne for summer entertainment.
Located on a quiet, no-through lane in the sleepy hamlet of Brook, this charming Welsh cottage is ideal for a peaceful retreat. Surrounded by woodland and with a babbling brook just across the lane, here you’ll feel miles away from everyday life. However, you’re just 2 miles from the renowned Pendine Sands beach and 15.5 miles from Carmarthen. The property sleeps four, making it a home from home for small families, and there’s ample space for up to two furry friends to join the adventure.
Enter the single-storey property via seven steps from the road and into the hallway; from here, step into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Enjoy a family meal in the dining area, with a wonderful garden view providing a picturesque backdrop. Unwind in the lounge area for a relaxed night in with your favourite film while the hounds snooze beside you. On cold winter nights, the open space becomes a cosy haven with the wood burner gently crackling. Climb into bed in one of the two light and airy double bedrooms and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep, before enjoying your morning coffee in the sloped lawn area. On the opposite side of the lane, you’ll find a further garden with a patio which overlooks the stream.
Your canine companions will go mutts for the 7-mile stretch of sandy beach at Pendine, while Marros Sands (6.5 miles) and Amroth (8 miles) provide quieter spots to walk and relax. Explore the Dylan Thomas Coastal Path from Laugharne (2.5 miles), with views over the unusual mud flats. Leave no stick unfetched as you enjoy walkies around Laugharne’s famous castle grounds and pay a visit to the Dylan Thomas Boathouse (3 miles). Further afield, the National Botanic Garden of Wales (24 miles) regularly holds ‘doggy days.’
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
