"This beautiful lodge, situated just 1.5 miles’ walk from pretty Beesands Beach, is perfect for your entire family – and that includes the furry members! Sleeping six across three welcoming bedrooms and with plenty of space for up to two dogs to snooze, it won’t be long before you’re all up and about exploring the stunning scenery in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Head down to Grade II-listed Start Point Lighthouse (4 miles) and stroll along the South West Coast Path from here, wandering the miles of coastline around you.

The property, which is one of four in a peaceful location, is spacious and comfortable. The open-plan living area is bright and airy thanks to apex ceilings and large French doors that look out into the garden. In the evenings, it’s still a cosy place to snuggle up on the huge sofa in front of the TV, the pups by your feet. The bedrooms have a contemporary feel with thoughtful finishing touches; gently wake up among natural light and head out to the patio with your morning coffee. Sizzle up a BBQ on summer evenings for a tasty al fresco meal, looking out across countryside views.

Make sure you pop into the market town of Kingsbridge (6.5 miles) and mooch around the selection of shops, cafes and pubs situated on the estuary. Picturesque village Salcombe (12 miles) is also worth a visit, where the hounds can watch the kids take part in both on and off-water activities. For unspoilt coastal coves that the whole family will love, try Mattiscombe Sands (3.5 miles) which is a mile’s walk from Start Point Lighthouse. For some history, visit Totnes Castle (14 miles) and take in the fantastic views from the top of the keep."

Everything was as expected from the photos etc. We had a lovely time with friends in comfortable accommodation with plenty of enclosed garden for the dogs. Open-plan living and a well equipped kitchen, so happily cooked meals. A good base for visiting the local beaches, as well as Kingsbridge, Milton Sands, Hope Cove, Salcombe, Coleton Fishacre & DRead moreartmouth, Bigbury & Burgh Island, East Portlemouth & Mill Bay. Curlew at Cotmore is just perfect. The house is in a beautiful quiet location with lovely views but a short distance away from beaches, pubs and restaurants. We had sunny weather and made good use of the garden and bbq. Our dog enjoyed the garden and we were happy it was secure. We have stayed in many rental properties and this is one of the best, Read morespotless and very well equipped. We explored the surrounding area, Bantham Beach was one of our favourites and the Bolt Head Trail was stunning. Hide

A fantastic property in a great location. The equipment levels and attention to detail to make our stay comfortable was first class. Maps and details on local pubs was greatly appreciated. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in the South Hams area.

This was our second stay at Curlew and as before it was perfect from the moment we arrived. Spotlessly clean, very quiet and the welcome bottle of fizz and chocolates were much appreciated. Its a well designed space and the sunny south facing enclosed garden makes it perfect to relax knowing the dogs are safe. Luxurious and contemporary property with everything provided. A south- facing enclosed garden and very peaceful but conveniently located from both a dog friendly, all year round beach and a variety of pubs serving good food.
