This traditional cottage sits amid some of the most beautiful scenery in the Highlands — dramatic and peaceful, the hills and streams of Perthshire offer a beautiful backdrop to your escape to Scotland

Situated between Scotland's two National Parks, this traditional highland cottage is nestled amongst stunning, rugged countryside that friends/families and their four-legged companions will love exploring. From its remote location, the views of the surrounding mountains, rivers, lochs and pine forests are beautiful. After a busy day of hiking, fetching sticks and watching (not chasing) the amazing wildlife, guests and their furry pals will be keen to return to this well-appointed, spacious property.

Charming and full of character, this cottage has been beautifully renovated to create a bright and airy home with plenty of space and light. On the ground floor, the cosy lounge with its wood burner is the perfect place for everyone to snuggle up of an evening. There is also a large country-cottage kitchen/diner where you can all cook/socialise together. Completing the ground floor is a generous bathroom with separate bath and shower and an equally generous utility/boot room for cleaning off muddy boots and paws. Upstairs, there are three lovely bedrooms with small, quirky doors and some slanting ceilings. Outside, dogs are to be kept on their leads due to the working farm, but once inside, they can go where they please.

Delightful market town, Aberfeldy, is 11 miles away with shops, eateries and its own distillery. It's a good base for exploring the Perthshire countryside, where you can walk, cycle, climb, canoe, fish or sail. Closer to home, the property is less than a mile from Loch Freuchie, where you and your dogs can enjoy relaxing strolls on the easier terrain. Kenmore, 17 miles, is at the northern tip of Perthshire's largest loch, Loch Tay. If you're looking for trails amongst the trees, head to nearby Tay Forest Park (11 miles). Other towns worth visiting are Pitlochry, Blairgowrie, Killicrankie and Perth (all within 25 miles).

We loved this cottage and had a great holiday. Its located in a beautiful location and there is a lot of bird life to see. Its really clean and comfortable and it was well set up for taking dogs with a good size utility room and a separate entrance. The water does have a greenish colour which slightly unnerved the children (having a bath) but this Read moreis just due to the water coming from the moorland. Hide

Wow what a beautiful place and we were lucky to have some snow, which made a perfect Xmas. We lost electricity for 30 hrs because of the snow which was fun, the wood burner was a god send for warming water and food. A great cottage with everything you needed for a perfect stay. Location was amazing, with great walks and breathtaking scenery right on the doorstep. Plenty of things to do locally in Aberfeldy, Pitlochry and beyond.

This was our second stay at Croftmill but 7 years apart and this time with 2 young children in tow. We loved it just as much if not more this time. We had incredible weather which made for spectacular views and great for wildlife spotting. The cottage itself it beautiful with plenty of space and lovely and clean. Lovely property, in such a breathtaking location. The only two things we wish wed known before our trip was about the drinking water and to bring extra fire wood to last the week.

Thus is a comfortable cottage in a beautiful rural location. The cottage is warm & well equipped with some lovely walks on the doorstep and easy access to Dunkeld, Crieff and beyond. It should be noted that the 'private water source' mentioned in the listing means that water should be boiled before being drank. This was our second visit to the property but we were very disappointed this time. There were no shower facilities when we stayed as the shower was broken, this meant we had to bathe in water from the local stream, which was brown as the property does not have mains water. The lack of mains water should be highlighted as it means visitors need to bRead morering bottled water to drink from. The property is very basic, and does not feel very welcoming. Just returned from a fabulous weekend at Croftmill Cottage and already trying to figure out when we can visit again! Beautiful views and such a homely feel to the accommodation. It was just perfect for us 2 adults, 2 children 7&10 & our wee sausage dog! Our family had a super lovely holiday here. The cottage was the perfect size for the 5 of us (2 adults and 3 teenagers), and was extremely clean and very well equipped. It's in a beautiful location with plenty of interesting small towns within half an hour's drive as well as being a convenient base for day trips further afield. Highly recommended.

Lovely rustic cottage in quiet area. We stayed here for the Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry. We also visited Perth and Crieff so close by for everything we wanted. Would recommend.

The cottage was very comfortable and cosy, and had everything we required for our stay. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty towels. Nice big bath towels too . Although the lounge was comfortable, we preferred to sit in the sunny kitchen where we could see all around us. Had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage with my wife and 2 dogs. Cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. Amazing walks on the doorstep and in a great location to explore Scotland or just to relax away from it all.

Absolutely amazing cottage in quite honestly one of the most picturesque surroundings. Such a homely feel and the neighbours, and farmer were all very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to booking again in the future
