There is an abundance of local hiking trails for you and your four-legged friend to explore, straight from the front door. It is also the perfect spot to enjoy a cold glass of wine on a warm day and indulge in some star gazing on a clear night.

The surrounding area is steeped in history with the site of the Battle of Culloden, and the ancient town of Inverness, brimming with eateries and stunning architecture not to be missed. The magical Abriachan Forest (2 miles) is the perfect destination for the whole family, with hikes and bike rides for all abilities to enjoy. Head north to try your hand at spotting the local seals and dolphins at Moray Firth (7 miles) and be sure to visit one of the traditional, dog-friendly pubs on your way home to sample some delicious local produce.

Home away from home! As soon as we walked through the door the whole cottage felt warm and inviting. We loved our stay at Crofters cottage from the welcome flowers, chocolates and wine, it had all the amenities you would get at home and more. The views and the quiet were amazing and in a wonderful location to explore the highlands.

Amazing cottage, perfect for our group of six (4 adults and two children) and small dog. Location is perfect for exploring the Highlands and at the same time being close to a city (Inverness).
