Charming stone-built cottage situated on a working farm in the beautiful Highlands close to Loch Ness. Perfect for families seeking a peaceful countryside stay, yet within access of various amenities and attractions.

This charming stone cottage is set on a scenic working farm, perched in the Scottish Highlands with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. There is an abundance of local hiking trails for you and your four-legged friend to explore, straight from the front door. The close proximity to Loch Ness (4 miles) is guaranteed to set tails wagging and with over 80 miles of footpaths to explore around its shores, there are plenty of chances for you and the whole pack to sniff out any monsters. Surrounded by mountains, lochs and ancient ruins, this cosy bolthole is the perfect spot for a secluded getaway with family and friends – and, of course, your beloved hound.

With three spacious bedrooms to choose from, your trusty companion will have the run of the cottage. Packed full of charm, the property boasts wooden floors and exposed stone walls. After a long day enjoying the wilderness of the highlands, kick off your boots and warm up your paws in front of the wood burner with a good book and a hot chocolate. The enclosed garden means that your dog can stretch his legs in complete safety, away from the workings of the farm. It is also the perfect spot to enjoy a cold glass of wine on a warm day and indulge in some star gazing on a clear night.

The surrounding area is steeped in history with the site of the Battle of Culloden, and the ancient town of Inverness, brimming with eateries and stunning architecture not to be missed. The magical Abriachan Forest (2 miles) is the perfect destination for the whole family, with hikes and bike rides for all abilities to enjoy. Head north to try your hand at spotting the local seals and dolphins at Moray Firth (7 miles) and be sure to visit one of the traditional, dog-friendly pubs on your way home to sample some delicious local produce.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Foxhole farm was unbelievably comfortable for our stay. The amenities were just what youd expect with plenty of personality, and our hosts Colin and Fiona were beyond hospitable and friendly. I only wish we had stayed longer. My only hesitation writing this review is that it will be harder for us to book next time.

It felt like a real home from home. Fiona and Colin were very friendly and welcoming. The house was lovely to stay in - light rooms that were comfortable and relaxing. We loved the space in the kitchen with a nice, big table to sit around. Perfect for us all. We had a great time staying there and would definitely stay again.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a great location for exploring Loch Ness and Glen Affric area. The cottage is well equipped and great for a family holiday. The sitting room with log burning fire is perfect for cosy evenings and the sun room/porch is a lovely place to sit and read. As well as having its own garden area, we were free to explore the farRead morem and meet the animals. The owners are very welcoming and helpful but unobtrusive. Hide
