A quaint and traditional former fisherman’s cottage which is been fitted and furnished to create the perfect holiday home located in the seaside village of Appledore.

Ripe for the picking, this inviting cottage at Appledore is perfect for four holidaymakers and two of their happy hounds. Spend your days on some of Devon’s finest sandy beaches or put your feet up in your enclosed garden, with your canine companions also savouring the outside space and fresh air.

Upstairs at your former fisherman’s cottage, the master bedroom looks out over charming Appledore and across the water to Instow. Two additional bedrooms are also on this floor, with one opening on to the private rear garden. Your main accommodation is at ground-floor level, however, where a handy side door is ideal for welcoming home those members of your party who might have sandy paws and salty fur. Light the wood burner to warm them up after a cool dip or a brisk winter walk, while you switch on your Smart TV or watch a film. The bright kitchen/diner gives you the option of sitting down to home-cooked meal if you choose and its washing machine means you can rinse out your doggy towels as you need to when the weather is inclement. On warm days, however, those with two and four legs can make the most of the garden, pulling up a chair, firing up the BBQ or catching a ball or two in the glorious Devon sunshine.

Your cosy home in the heart of the village will give you access to some superb coastal and countryside excursions with your best furry friends. Explore Northam Burrows Country Park, with its footpaths and wide sandy beach where energetic legs can enjoy a good stretch. Take a 2.5-mile walk to the coastal village of Westward Ho! or find pubs in Appledore itself where dogs are as welcome as you are to lap up the scenery over a refreshing drink.

Everything is provided that you could possibly need in the cottage. The sitting room is very comfy and so is the bed. The outside spaces are lovely but sadly it was far too cold for us to use.

A lovely quiet place to stay to get away from everything. Accessing the garden from one of the bedrooms took our dog a little time to get used to but she did towards the end. The cottage has everything you need for a short stay and is in easy walking distance to some lovely places to eat. We would certainly stay here again.

Lovely cottage...just be aware that it's a bit awkward to get luggage and shopping to the front door as there is no access for cars....but it's manageable..

Cannot rate the fabulous location highly enough. The cottage has a warm and cosy feel. Bus stop and amazing coffee shop literally around the corner and astonishing how quiet it was. Perhaps not for anyone with mobility issues but we loved it and hope to book again.

Lovely cottage in a great location! The bedrooms are a good size and worked really well (we have two small children who each had their own room). The garden is lovely. The house was well stocked with everything we needed for a long weekend. We were there over b/h weekend so there was no parking on the streets but there was plenty of space in the neRead morearest car park, which is only a 2 min walk away. Look forward to a return visit! Lovely comfortable cottage close to the quay. My elderly aunt did find the short climb up the steps to new street quite hard but she coped. We had a lovely holiday. Appledore is lovely, quaint and quiet. Very dog friendly.

Lovely cottage, perfect for 2 people, + spare bedroom for extra person with access to a rooftop garden! The cottage was beautifully kitted out with a maritime theme sets of glasses with lovely images of fish, driftwood sculptures on the walls. All a few steps away from the waterfront at Appledore. Our bedroom had views over the R Taw to Instow

Lovely cottage with a great view of Appledore quay and Instow from the upstairs main bedroom window. Well equipped, dog friendly (dog bowls and stair gate, enclosed rear garden) and very comfortable. A very well equipped cottage in a good location, a short walk to the quay. The small garden is particularly useful if you are holidaying with your dog. Unusually the garden is accessed from the top floor of the cottage, or up stairs in a side alley. I would not recommend the cottage to someone who is less able because of the stairs and the lack of Read moremotor access to the cottage. Hide

A wonderful weeks stay at this clean & very cosy cottage. It is very well equipped & has a delightful outside area completely secure for dogs. The view from the main bedroom is lovely. The cottage is in a great location within minutes from pubs & restaurants which are all dog friendly. An excellent grocers is also near by. Appledore is perfect to eRead morexplore many nearby attractions such as Instow, Clovelly and more. Would love to return to Crabapple & have already recommended it to friends & family. Hide

In a great place near the harbour. Quirky as garden upstairs. No parking but we managed to park on the street nearby not the Odun carpark. Loved the wood burning stove and the king size bed was super comfy. Views to the sea from the bedroom window.
