The pretty pebbled beach at Llwyngwril (4 miles) is dog-friendly all year round and has plenty of rock pools to explore when the tide is out. Cregennan Lakes (3 miles) also welcome doggy visitors. These lovely lakes are located on the northern slopes of Cadair Idris, some 800 feet above sea level, so they offer spectacular views over the Mawddach Estuary. Adventurous pups are also welcome to take a trip onboard Fairbourne Steam Railway (1 mile), which has been running from Fairbourne village to the mouth of the Mawddach Estuary to connect with the ferry to Barmouth for over a century.
