Pack up your bag of treats and harness up for an adventure in the glorious Northumberland National Park. Sitting in Europe’s largest area of protected sky, explore by day and gaze up at the spectacular stars by night. Welcoming waggy-tailed guests too, the lawn space is brilliant for a morning stretch of the legs before the surrounding scenery tempts you outside away from the roaring open fire and cosy cottage-style interior.

Rustle up tasty snacks for all to enjoy in the characterful kitchen with open fire and exposed bricks. The table is a great spot to gather with a mug of something warm whilst discussing plans for the day ahead. Stepping through to the lounge, put your feet up on the comfortable sofas and chairs and treat furry tums to a tickle as four-legged friends sprawl out on the floor. Relax in the bath and soak away or freshen up with a quick rinse in the shower over bath, and then climb to the first floor where two of three bedrooms await discovery. Both rooms are spacious with quirky sloping ceilings so watch your head as you settle down for a peaceful night’s sleep. Should the sun shine as you wake, step outside not the enclosed garden and take a seat for an al fresco breakfast with beautiful river views. The cottage has off-road parking.

With over 410 square miles of national park to roam, throw on your boots, grab a lead and head out for a day exploring your magnificent surroundings. Within the park lie exciting sites including Hadrian’s Wall, Castle Nick and the Sycamore Gap. The stunning market town of Alnwick is just 19.5 miles from home and is worth a trip to visit its iconic castle and gardens before hunting down a bite to eat.

  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Lovely quiet location. Not too far from local supermarket or petrol station. Nice cottage except for the things mentioned above.

Lovely comfy cottage with lots of unique character, well equipped and clean. Lovely area out in the wilds the sky at night is amazing and we could hear lots of owls as well. I shall be recommending it to friends and family.

Quiet location, perfect with a dog. Be aware, 10 miles to nearest shops. Mobile signal & WiFi extremely poor in the property & surrounding area. Would appear to depend on your network as the property is in a small cluster of properties and other residents were able to use their mobiles.

Great cottage, in a gorgeous spot with a lovely view beyond the garden to the river and a bridge. Surprisingly spacious, with a large living room, kitchen and master bedroom, and warmed up quickly. The enclosed garden was great for our old dog, so we were able to leave the doors open all day for him to enjoy the sunshine. Even though winter storms Read morehave meant some forests have been temporarily closed, there were still lovely walks from the door, including a short one to the local pub. Hide
