A bright, comfortable and superbly located property in Polruan, this four-person cottage will appeal to all members of your pack. Ditch the daily grind, focus on the important things in life (especially the ones with wet noses and waggy tails) and enjoy an unforgettable getaway in this salt-kissed fishing village. Graced with all sorts of local amenities, including a cracking dog-friendly pub, you won’t have to go far to enjoy great food and beautiful scenery, but you can also head further afield if you’d like with trips to Fowey and the surrounding country and coast.
Once you’ve managed to emerge from beneath the duvet of one of the two first-floor bedrooms and have watered and fed the dogs, the open-plan lounge/diner is a lovely spot to tuck into a hearty breakfast. Just adjacent is the well-equipped kitchen, accessed via a step up. Whilst your two dogs pay homage to the nomage in their own bowls, gather your two-legged friends around the dining table and chairs to share out plates of fodder. Later on, having returned from your walkies for the day, curl up in the pretty lounge area and switch on the TV for a movie, flick through the pages of your holiday read or opt for some old-fashioned fun with a family boardgame.
Accessed via a narrow path and steps, the enclosed, raised garden provides a real treat for the eye and mind with beautiful views of the harbour. Parking can be found in nearby car parks, giving you the freedom to explore further afield if you please. Whilst there is plenty to keep you captivated nearby (including walks along the South West Coast Path to nearby dog-friendly beaches and river trips to Fowey), you can also take a boat trip to Mevagissey or drive to historic Charlestown (7.5 miles).
