Delightful hidden courtyard cottage with a shared sun-trap garden and courtyard with seating and a BBQ. In a peaceful setting in the ancient fishing village of Appledore with its quaint cobbled streets and excellent pubs and galleries.
A pretty bijou coastal cottage, one of four, is hidden away in the heart of this historic fishing village. With cafes and antiques in cobbled lanes, a vibrant quayside and direct access to the South West Coast Path, this location is picture-perfect for humans and hounds. Let the dogs take the lead and, in the wag of two tails, you will be making paw prints in the sand and lapping up the salty sea air.
Cosy and contemporary, this all-in-one cottage has been creatively designed and wraps you up in a warm seaside hug of a welcome. Comfortable and well-equipped, there is all you need to make this retreat a perfect base from which to explore. For evenings in, there are board games and books to choose from and a TV/DVD to catch up on news and favourite films. There is a spacious bedroom with an en-suite hosting a double rain shower - ease aching muscles and cleanse the salt from your skin. The shared courtyard, with a BBQ and choice of seating, calls you to sit awhile with a glass, a good book and man’s best friends relaxing beside you in the hope of an ear rub.
In a heartbeat you could be dining as this area is a treasure trove of delicious local foods. The vibrant quayside is to be enjoyed with ice creams and evening strolls. Venture onto the sand dunes and challenge yourselves to the coastal paths. In peak season, the dog-friendly ferry to Instow (or a 5-mile drive) is a must for its fabulous beach that welcomes dogs all year round. The long stretch of sands at Westward Ho! is less than a mile and is wonderful for surfing, salty paws, sandcastles and a fish and chip lunch.
