This carefully designed, wheelchair accessible holiday home is set in an elevated position on Skye, where it enjoys breath-taking views out across the water.

This charming property is an ideal retreat for families/friends and their canine chums looking to explore the southern end of the largest of the Inner Hebrides' islands - the beautiful Isle of Skye. With numerous walks on your doorstep, stunning views across the Sound of Sleat and a range of wildlife to spot, such as eagles, otters, whales and dolphins, you won't need to go far to experience the magic of Skye. And if that's not enough, the sunrises from here are spectacular, so be sure to get up early. Despite its isolated position, you're only 4 miles from the town and beach of Armadale.

This purpose-built holiday home is delightful and full of character. The neutral walls and warm wooden tones contrast beautifully with the occasional splashes of colour. You will never tire of the sea views from most of the rooms or the wonderful outside terrace where you can enjoy a morning coffee or evening dram of whisky. The open-plan lounge/diner is cosy with a wood burner at its centre and the kitchen has a wonderful country feel about it. The bedrooms are all spacious and arranged over both floors; with a ramp outside making the property accessibility-friendly. Dogs and children will enjoy exploring the enclosed garden and beyond.

At this end of Skye, you can explore the town of Armadale with its bustling pier, ferry to Mallaig and beautiful castle, gardens and museum (where even your dog is welcome on a lead). The lovely village of Broadford (20 miles) with its galleries and shops is worth a visit and even has water sports and fossil hunting on offer too. The spectacular Cuillin Ridge is quite a drive at 51 miles (approx. 90 minutes), but it boasts an interesting walk/scramble and is home to 12 Munros.

The cottage is in a fantastic location with breathtaking views of the rough bounds of Knoydart. The property was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for self-catering. The wood burner was great also and we had uninterrupted access to the internet. The online information about the holiday home says that it is dog friendly and that dogs are allowed to stay in the house, hence the main reason for me booking the house. I was saddened and somewhat annoyed to see a notice in the top step of the stairs reading NO DOGS. Not exactly dog friendly one might rightly surmise. The fact that dogs are only Read moreallowed in part of the property should be clearly stated in the online information. Otherwise a lovely holiday property in a great location. Hide
