Nestled in a private corner and accessed via three steps or ramp, the lodge welcomes you into its cosy Scandi-style interior. Whip up a romantic meal to enjoy in the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner; there’s no need to decide who is washing up with a handy dishwasher included. Enjoy a chilled glass of bubbly as you laze on the comfortable sofas and watch a film before retiring to the warm double bedroom. Pups can stretch their legs in the lawn area as you sizzle dinner on the BBQ in the evening.
Pack up a picnic and set off down the South West Coast Path and admire the dramatic rugged coastline and panoramic views of ocean expanse. Buck’s Mill Cove (3 miles) provides spectacular views of Bideford Bay and Lundy Island. Wander through Hartland Abby’s stunning gardens which welcomes dogs on leads - bursting with colour in summer, these woodland gardens were chosen to film ‘Sense and Sensibility’. The fishing village of Appledore (11 miles) has charming dog-friendly cafes with water bowls provided for thirsty pups; you can access the Northam Burrows from here, where pups can run free through the dunes.
