Nestling amidst stunning lakes and an abundance of wildlife, this lovely lodge provides great base from which to explore North Devon and Cornwall and is just a short drive from the coast.
Holiday-hungry humans and hounds can escape the stresses of modern life in this charming pine lodge, set 2.5 miles from the quaint cobbled village of Clovelly. Fish for carp, roach, rudd and perch in the six lakes or explore the surrounding farmland and forests. Discover Clovelly’s intriguing history, and its superb independent shops, galleries, eateries, museums and canine-friendly pubs – there’s a wonderfully preserved fisherman’s cottage, Clovelly Donkey Stables and a glorious little chapel with frescoes. The Milky Way Adventure Park (1.5 miles) is superb fun, whatever the weather. Find sublime fur-friendly beaches at Clovelly, Mouthmill (2.5 miles) and Peppercombe (4.5 miles); there are breathtaking views from Windbury Hillfort, above Mouthmill and Blackchurch Rock.
Up four steps and across the veranda, you’ll find a magical world of glowing pine, lakeside light and cosy comfort. You and your four-pawed pals will love the bright freedom of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its plush fireside sofa, rug and armchair, galley-style ‘cave’ kitchen and dining table and chairs linking the two. Enjoy fabulous feasts of fine local fare, inside or out on the balcony with glittering water beyond and sun and stars above. Upstairs, soak in a steaming bath, before nightcaps and dreamy sleeps in the three light and lovely bedrooms; lodge living feels adventurous and exciting, but watch your heads on the sloping ceilings. The gorgeous double bedroom has wonderful views.
