This wonderful property nestles in a tranquil position and enjoys splendid mountain scenery and views of the enchanting Isle of Seil. A perfect rural retreat for families and groups.
Perfect for a large family or group of friends, with up to two doggie pals also welcome, this wonderful spacious house has spectacular views. Near to the beach for carefree walks, it is set close to the largely undiscovered island of Seil, one of the Slate Islands that are said to have roofed the world. Seil is separated from the mainland by a narrow strip of water crossed by the humped 18th-century Clachan Bridge, locally known as the Bridge Across the Atlantic.
Within this fabulously roomy house, you will find a large and welcoming lounge. Equipped with an open fire, comfy furniture and TV/DVD, this beautiful room is perfect for you and your dogs to relax, offering fantastic rural vistas. The open-plan kitchen/diner is well-equipped for all your culinary needs, while hard floors are ideal for muddy paws. Outside, you can enjoy the large enclosed garden – ideal for you, your children and your four-legged friends – while appreciating the views of the spectacular scenery.
Seil island's main village of Ellenabeich (5 miles) is a picturesque location which has featured in several films and TV shows. The village's main attractions include the gardens of An Cala and the Scottish Slate Islands' Heritage Centre. Seil also boasts a golf course and popular yacht anchorage at Phuilladobhrain and Balvicar (3 miles). Within 13 miles lies the charming seaside town of Oban, with its colosseum-like McCaig’s Tower, from where you can take boat trips to Mull (39 miles), Staffa, Iona and the Treshnish Isles. Closer to home, less than half a mile across the bridge is the dog-welcoming Tigh-an-Truish Inn (house of the trousers), the name dating from when kilts were once banned. Be aware of sheep in the area; but your dogs will love to run free on the beach.
