Enjoy a fantastic holiday to this country cottage in Cornwall. Located in a quintessentially English village beside a church, yet just a mile from the A39, this three-bedroom cottage is the perfect bolthole for friends or family groups and their four-legged friends looking for a slice of countryside life.
The picture-perfect house is deceptively spacious and full of quirky cottage details like exposed beams, low-level windows and original wooden doors. With well-placed lighting and a lovely stable door, the open-plan downstairs is a bright, airy space, just perfect to return to after a busy day out. Spread out the days’ beach-combing spoils on the large dining table and take a glass of wine at the breakfast bar while you contemplate dinner. Or retire to the tranquil garden, sit on the decking and listen to the trickling stream while the dogs bask on the lawn.
There are some pretty footpaths around the village, and it’s a mile from the house to the nearest pub on the main road. Dogs and children will love exploring the maze of grass-covered ruins at Penhallam Manor, 3 miles away, and the beach at Crackington Haven is just 4 miles. Pooches are permitted year round on the southern end of Widemouth Bay, 5 miles away, and at Summerleaze beach in Bude, 10 miles – which also has plenty of shops and restaurants. Take a trip to picturesque Boscastle, 10 miles away, for a Cornish cream tea and a stroll on the harbour before heading to Tintagel to see the dramatic cliff-top castle ruins.
