Surrounded by rolling hills and undulating landscapes, this lovely rural retreat will suit families and their four-legged friends seeking to enjoy a holiday exploring the beautiful Northumberland National Park. Step out of the front door for long walks along the River Coquet which meanders next to the property. Take the lead across heather-strewn moorland spotting curlews and osprey in the skies above. Explore the 1,000-acres of gardens of Cragside House (11 miles) and sniff out the perfect picnic spot.

Tails will wag as you walk up the path leading through the front garden to your lovely stone barn conversion. Plan your days at the kitchen table over a hearty breakfast or prepare tasty evening meals in the well-equipped kitchen to linger over in the formal dining room. Curl up on one of the lounge’s comfortable sofas after a long walk and relax in front of your favourite TV programme while your pup snoozes at your feet. When it’s time to retire, climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find the three well-appointed bedrooms – a double, a twin and a single – along with the family bathroom. Venturing outside, your hound will enjoy exploring the pretty garden with an enclosed lawn as you light the chimenea for an al fresco evening drink.

With a choice of walks from the doorstep, your cottage’s location is top dog for hounds. Head to the quaint village of Holystone (3.5 miles) to sniff out the mystical Lady’s Well and put your best paw forward on a walk through Holystone Burn. Further afield, visit the quaint hamlet of Harbottle (9.5 miles) for a hike up to the distinctive Drake Stone and to explore the 12th-century castle ruins. Discover the beautiful 60-foot waterfall at Linhope Spout (21 miles) reached through shady woodlands.

I would not recommend this property to anybody as it was smelly dirty and lacked utensils to cook for a family. Very dissapointing after it looked so good on the photos. It's in a good cetral location, but that is it's one saving grace. Avoid this property and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Very poor.

Great location set in wonderful Northumberland countryside but the cottage definitely needs updating.

The location is very remote, more remote than I anticipated with no phone reception. When we arrived, we were locked out as I had not been sent the code for the key lock. I could not contact anyone by phone or email as there was no reception so I drove for mikes until I got reception only to discover there was no one to contact as it was after 6 o'Read moreclock. All in all, were stranded for almost two hours which was not the best start to the holiday. Hide

PROPERTY IS GENERALLY DATED AND IN NEED OF ATTENTION THROUGHOUT. THE LOCATION IS BEAUTIFUL AND THE PROPERTY WAS NICE AND WARM WE CONTACTED THE OWNER REGARDING POOR MATTRESS HOWEVER, NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT. THE PROPERTY COULD BE AMAZING WITH A BIT OF TLC AND MONEY.
