This well-appointed Norwegian lodge set in 3.5 acres of grounds on the edge of the Quantock Hills, just two miles from the coastal town of Watchet and a great base to explore Exmoor and the Quantocks.

Nestled in the heart of Somerset and with far-reaching views of the Quantock Hills, this quaint wooden lodge is the perfect bolthole for a tranquil couples’ escape. You’ll find it tucked away within the spacious grounds of the owner’s home, with plenty of outside space to enjoy with your beloved canine companion. The area boasts an array of walking, cycling and horse riding routes, making it a fantastic spot for nature-lovers. You’re close to the beach too; St. Audries Bay is just 1 mile.

Enjoy a cosy retreat at this single-storey lodge, which is designed with an open-plan layout. Settle in for a comfortable evening in the lounge area, relaxing after a long day in front of the TV. Cook a romantic meal in the cleverly fitted kitchen, enjoying it alfresco on warmer evenings on the private decked area. This is a great spot for watching the sun go down too, so cuddle up under a blanket with Fido at your feet and take in Mother Nature’s greatest show. After all that exploring, all three of you will be ready for a good night’s sleep. Retire to the pretty double bedroom, where the next morning you’ll awake to lush countryside views.

Join the historic West Somerset steam railway just 1.5 miles away, journeying towards Minehead (11.5 miles) or Bishops Lydeard (10.5 miles). Dunster with its towering National Trust castle is a must-see (9 miles), while Exmoor National Park (5.5 miles) and the Quantock Hills on the doorstep are perfectly positioned for walkies and stick-chasing. Coastal canines will love North Somerset’s many beaches too: visit the sands at Blue Anchor Bay (5.5 miles), the harbour at Watchet (2.5 miles), or the rock pools at Kilve Beach (4.5 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a lovely stay, the property is cosy with all the essentials and a wonderful view. Warmly welcomed by the the host who gave plenty of ideas on what to do in the area. Fantastic and quiet location within reach of the Quantock hills and Exmoor and close to the coast. Highly recommended.

A lovely little cabin overlooking the Quantoxhead hills. Very well equipped and a lovely touch with the owner putting some milk, cake, chocolate and bread in the fridge for us. The weather was beautiful and we were able to make a lot of use of the wonderful outdoor space.

Me and my wife spent 3 night in the lovely Norwegian lodge. When we arrive we was greeted by tony the owner who shown us to the property. He was very informative on the local area especially as we had our dog with us. The location is perfect for walking in the woods or on the beach. The Lodge is more or less as you see on the net, its not huge but large enough for two. The place is quiet and you can do your own thing with the owner close by if you need them. It's only just off the main Minehead road and Watchet is about 10 mins away, Minehead is about 20 mins where there is a Tesco. This lodge is fantastic! Tony and Carol had literally thought of everything - I brought a lot of household items I didnt even need to use as we were well equipped! The grounds are beautiful and the horses a lovely extra. The log cabin was fantastic - very cosy, great views across the gardens & over the valley, nice pub with good food a 10 minute walk away, and the Quantock hills round the corner. Cabin is brilliantly equipped - loads of kitchen stuff, even a mini cooker. on arrival the proprietor gave us a really friendly and informative welcome giving us info about the property and the area. The icing on the cake was finding tasty treats including a cream cake, milk, bread and biscuits. We would recommend this a bijoux comfortable retreat in beautiful countryside.

Mr and Mrs Dunn were very welcoming and friendly. Very clean and tidy log cabin. We reported a problem and it was rectified immediately. Lovely little extras on arrival, fresh bread,Danish pastries and milk, tea etc. A lovely restful break.

The cabin was in a good location to access walks & a base for sightseeing in the location. The owners where pleasant, welcoming & helpful. The cabin offered facilities that ensured the clients could stay in relative comfort & have a relaxing time.

We had a great weekend here. Tony and Carol were very welcoming and accomodating. The fresh flowers and food left for us in the chalet was a lovely touch. We also arranged to have a lovely cooked breakfast in the B&B on our last morning for a very reasonable price. They also went out of their way to accommodate my gluten free diet. Though cosy the Read morelodge was perfect for us and our 7 month old daughter. Really well stocked kitchen, nice shower and comfy bed. Hide
